Honda Acura Engine Codes Guide
follow that link, it will give you almost all if not every single
engine code from honda and acura and what car they come off of.
Usually, honda engines are described with a letter followed by
2 digit numbers that represents the displacement and letter and a number
at the end of that to describe other specs involved.

You'll also hear a lot about "GSR" motor, and that is B18C5,
pretty much a B18 with Vtec, and Vtec is Variable-Timing & lift, Electronically Controlled: This is Honda's term for their technology that adjusts the amount that intake/exhaust valves are opened based on the current engine speed. The Insight uses a variation of the VTEC system that Honda calls VTEC-E ("E" standing for efficiency), that operates only on the intake valves.

I've also seen I-vtec, and i think those are... intelligent vtec? :dunno:

Hmm isnt B18c5 a integra Type R? i thought just a B18C was the 94-01 gsr...

and yes you are right about the IVTEC. its intelligent vtec... It doesent just come on at a certan rpm. it takes engine load, engine rpm and throttle position and determines when the best time is to engage vtec..
