my experimentation with aperture
15 Attachment(s)
wow. i finally figured this **** out.
k in the first two pics, and keep in mind are at 7:30 pm, almost completely dark, i had the aperture at like F4.8 (my camera can do F2.6 but i was zoomed, and it only does F4.8 when zoomed) and the exposure was around 4 seconds. the second two pics were with F4.8 again, but the exposure was at 8 seconds. i was amazed when i saw these pics. it was so dark, yet it looks like 2 PM! then the last pic was proof, that now with the exposure setting discovered, i BADLY need a tripod. lol. the other pics had that problem too, but i had the camera on a curb or block wall for those so the only shake is cuz my camera is weird shaped on the bottom, and after pushing the button, it shook a bit. |
you guys like how i talk about F4.8 like i know wtf that means? rofl. i dont know what the **** im doing, all i know is this **** looks a million times better. so now im gonna get a tripod tomorrow after work. where the hell do i get one? would best buy have em? they sell cameras? i gots me a rewards card from them last week.

You can get tripods from basicly any electronics store.
You really seem to be getting the camara down. |
You should stop experimenting with speed so you're not vibrating so much when you take the pictures. :p Sorry, I had to.
Sunset Hills Dr., eh? That sounds so typically Californian. |
yeah, you def got the lighting down... now onto the tripod
|
The lower the aperture # the more light it lets in... therefore shorter shutter speeds needed.
|
gettin better bud
|
Yea im a retart when it comes to camera too. looks nice though dude
|
Now, the real trick, is setting the aperature with the shutter speed to get the perfect picture. Not to mention choosing the correct ISO.
|
haha wtf are you guys talking about. i like the 1st bright one caleb. that looks really good
|
sweet pics. id like to figure that **** out sometime

I just hacked my Xti to work like a D20 and have 2100 ISO a couple weeks ago :D

I think i'd understand the gist of it. But I am by no means a computer genius. |

You can get a decent one (Sunpak?) at Walmart for around $20. Then retake those pictures and repost them!
|
600iso is enough for night photos.. When I take night photos I just set my Iso to 50 (lessgrain) and have long *** shutter speeds, but I use a tripod so no worries.
|
well i can set ISO, but i dont know what that is. it can go auto or 50-400. someone clue me in.

best buy. 27 bucks. swivels anyway you could imagine. im bout to go to the same parking lot down the street and try her out...
|
aperature has nothing to do with how infocus your car will be, aperature is how much it focuses on the main subject. i always get this backwards but a completly open aperature means it with capture everything in the frame in the same focus, so you car and the back ground will be in focus, with a closed aperature it will only capture your main subject, and the back ground will be blurry, or out of focus.
and at night while doing still shots of a car set your iso as low as you can, especially if you have a tripod. |
yeah... you want low iso... 600 is way to high, there would be so much noise.
