YMCA has employment centres which provide free internet and computer access, free phoneline, dozens of Newspapers, Daily job postings, along with resume and interview help.

Don't intend to upset anyone here but having Wal-Mart or McDonalds isn't at all something employers consider real work experience.

I'd recommend something in Retail where your working on interaction with people which will strengthen your communication and interpersonal skills.

If your interested in cars. Work at Mr. Lude doing oil-changes.

Hopefully you see where I'm getting at.

All the best.

Seb

^ bro the kid is 16, when ur 16 noone even looks at you, emplyers look mostly for commitment in the workplace, cause anyone can learn what to do at a certain job, if they see u can hold a job somewhere ur more likely to be considered

turbo_dreamz07 02-14-2007 10:12 PM

ey man im a hard and devoted worker, just because im 16 you think im one of these punks that fools around, i got mechanic courses and coop(mechanic) courses and all of my credits and have a good backround in jobs. Thanks to the guys who gave ideas and faith.

I was working for Sears in shipping & receiving at 16. What are you talking about?

There are ways around all systems. 16 too young? Why? No experience? Get references from teachers at your school or even your hockey coach.

The real problem is that no respectable organization is going to hire some punk with his shirt hanging out complimenting his 'thug' looking baggy jeans. If you have decent communication skills, punctual and look clean. You will receive a job with no problem at 16.

Think about what you say. Your coming off ignorant.
