New Pet, Part 2...

I got a replacement scorpion last week for the one that died at the end of Feb. It's a female, nameless right now, and... its pregnant. Most likely she will eat the young because she is stressed right now from the trip, the new cage, etc, etc, but hopefully one or two will live. Looks like the other one, but fat. lol

you want pics... let me go check if she's out and about. If not, you'll just have to wait, lol, cause I'm not stressing her anymore than she is.

Nope, she's hiding. Imp, however is out and about terrorizing crickets.

I never realized how big they can get, my brother and his wife just took a trip to Arizonia and you should see the pictures of these things. They're huge!

the ones in Arizona aren't that big, lol. The one I have (the yellow) is a Desert Hairy Scorpion, the biggest in America, common in AZ and is only 3.5-4" long as an adult. Now, the Emperor(Imp) I have is one of the 2 biggest species in the world, reaching lengths of up to 8 inches, and are the heaviest scorpions, also.

Needless to say don't piss him off

he's not that venemous, one of the least dangerous to humans.

I'm still trying to figure out whether the desert hairy is a pregnant female or just over fed, and possibly even male. But she won't come out of hiding!

First few are pics of the new Desert Hairy(Jinni), in all her agitated fatness, lol. And the last two are of the very shy, irritable Emperor, Imp.

hmmm nice...
Not too fond of them but they are pretty cool.

paarman97maro 04-25-2006 10:37 PM
