New to this site and need some information thinkin about moving to Canada from US

I own 95 honda civic ex turbocharged nothen fancy u know just another honda with a turbocharger lol. and my dd is 01 toyota corolla. Pix will be up soon.

anyways, I'm thinking about moving to canada from here Mid-west of USA. any recommendations?? my friends told me move towards toronto or ontario, are those good place to move to for good job and houses?. you can pm me also.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can just pick up and move to canada from the states.
When I moved to cincinnati, ohio, my fathers employer (Procter and Gamble) had to prove to the gov't that there wasn't someone in the US better qualified for the position than my father in order for them to bring my father, mother and myself in from Canada.
They said to us this is b/c you can't just pick up and move to the US from Canada and vice-versa. They said this is b/c the living situation is the same in US and Canada so its not like you're moving to a better living situation. Whereas someone moving from a third world country or something would be moving to a better living situation and able to provide a better standard of living for their family, so they can get permission and working visa's to do so. I know the whole time I lived in Ohio, I wasn't legally allowed to work or have a Social Security number. The visa's that my family had expired after 5 years and since I was over the age of 21 I was no longer considered a dependant of my parents, so if I wanted to go back with them it would've had to been on student work-visa. I didn't really wanna go back anyways, so whatever.

Toronto is super expensive to live, especially if you want to buy a house....even the surrounding areas like Mississauga, Oakville, Richmond Hill, etc etc are more expensive to live.
I live in Hamilton, the houses are much cheap(er) and is only about 40 minutes away from downtown Toronto or Niagara Falls.
Jobs? well, it depends what you do. If you're a skilled tradesman you shouldn't have too hard of a time finding work. If you're just gunna get a regular job somewhere, we're in a recession here too so decent jobs can be hard to find.

^^ What he said..Even jobs in the trades are hard to get..Enles you've got money, your gonna be in the same boat as the rest of us here :( poor and jobless..Even though I have a job

Toronto is the 4th biggest city in N.A. That said, people are losing jobs like its going out of style. You could always just hit up welfare and collect some free money, now is the time!

Then you could go to the food bank, eat for free...

What I am getting at is you can come to Canada and leach off the system. Best of luck.
