Sorry but I test drove the civic si the gti the mazda 6/3 speed the Subaru STI. If I were to buy a car for just speed it would be ether the wrx impreza and mod it or the STI but it has no interior ..... Fact is your car is from the 90's and wile it will have respect from people who know about cars, people wont respect you for it because its just an engine in a aged body. Skyline is an amazing car but I would never in my dreams have it as a Daily driver. I wanted a car that is a Conventinal Daily driver that can fit 5 with ease and is Fast. Same quality German design and quality interior same platform spec from spec but comes with only 5 airbags standard and they charge an arm and a leg not to mention the exact same dsg tranny is 500 $ more and stuff like headlight washers and xenon lights aren't standard. The 2007 VW GTI IS THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK ON THE MARKET TODAY WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITY, ENGINEERING, AND LUXURY. I know people with Supercharge 350z's wile STUPID AMAZING FAST they have problems atleast once a month and if that engine goes your ****ed.. I HAVE MY ENTIRE WARRANTY IN TACT MY DEALER IS A MOD FRIENDLY DEALER AND they cant even tell my car has higher boost. All you do is put it into stock mode and turn on dealer lockout and boom your safe from the dealer. I have already have my pads replaced by the dealer after raping them for free. Already had my diverter valve replaced after blowing it. If you know anything you would know that owning a good domestic in Europe like a stang has alot more impact at a hotel than pulling up in a GTI. Oh and you're Greek right. A Z06 in Greece cost like 2-3 times more than purchasing one in Canada. Pulling up to a Club in Greece with a stang or Z06 would earn you alot of respect down there. You own Germany's economy car. Stock your car is slower than a 350z, srt-4, Acura TL, Honda Accord v6, cobalt ss, mazdaspeed 3, rsx, volvo s60, bmw z4, bmw 3 series, crossfire, mustang, and pretty much any car with a little performance. Thats why I hate Vdub, because they're slow and always break down. They put like 100hp in heavy luxury cars without considering any performance or trying to make their cars fun to drive. Vdubs are for people that want to save money. Oh and your car is not in the same league as a Skyline, so stop comparing a brand new car to like a 91 R33. R34 cost more than 10 of your cars. lol. |
Yeah, I have a client at that intersection so yep twas me. Trust me I'm not jocking the GT-R at all - its a just fast, tight track car for the money. Even though they're older, they usually have under 100km, great maitenance and no rust - the underbody looks like a new car, bolts twist off with ease.

Not true, there are 03 350zs that have run 1/4 in 13.6-13.7 stock, down to the tire. With boltons and slicks high 12s can be done. Not sure how fast you are (13.2?) cause your post is REALLY long and it seems your talking out off your ass anyways. Sorry, but the reason I say this is you don't know too much about the Z (refer to quote above) therefore my comment applies to you. The title to your thread should say ... Of course the GTI's DSG can't take as much, but come on, it's in a GTI. But just for reference. The Audi S4 (2.7T) tranny can take about 600HP. The Audi TT (1st gen) was tested by Audi AG to take around 800HP. The 6 speed manuals in the VW's hold over 500HP easy. :smokin: |
Ummm yeah don't think the Veyron DSG qualifies.
Those are pretty impressive numbers but when they say handle? launch? power shift? for how long? Anything over 500-600hp in a GTR and you need the OS Giken cross-mssion guts...but then again the tranny debuted in 1989. |

Abusing a tranny, and breaking it doesn't mean it's weak. Something has to give and it doesn't matter what car you drive. If one thing doesn't break, another will. But a buddy of mine is putting close to 500WHP through a 6 spd. and has been to the track multiple times on BFG's and full slicks, tranny is still mint. Heck he's still running OEM shafts (he's broken one shaft or CV already though can't remember which). |

I'm sure if you cracked open those two gearboxes it would be a different world. All I'm saying no big horsepower VW DSG running around that I know of...we'll see how they hold up. |
