Ps2 Help

I have my ps2 chipped and have recentley gotten addicted to playing socom 2 online at a friends house...my problem is will i be able to play online with mine if it is chipped?

I have heard both yes and no but want someone to help me that knows what they are talking about. I do not want to spend another $$$ on buying an extra ps2 for nothing but will if i have to... :D

Please help me out.

It all depends on the type of chip you get.

My friend got an X-box chip, and it was widely believed that the chips cause x-box live failiure, this was the case, yes, but his had a special circuit built in which overrides that, so there were no drawbacks to installing his mod chip.

You just gotta look around.

www.modchip.ca should be the first place you go.

Got my answer last night:

The ps2 will still play online but they cannot be burnt games, online adaptor cannot recognize them! I have mine chipped so that you can manually turn the chip off if you want which means i just have to buy original games to play online and turn the chip on when im playing any other game.

Thanks nzero :thumbsup

There is a way you can use burnt games with it.. but the webpage that has that info has been shut down cause there was torrent files on it :smilie_da it has to do with the registry key you have to mod and add into your burnt game disk to play it.. I will dig around and see if I can get more info
