You're half right Kuztom. The Liberals are the ones in power now, responsible for drafting and passing both bill 203 (Safer Roads for a Safer Ontario Act) and the associated regulation (reg 455).

While a new party in government would have the power to draft further legislation repealing the mess the Liberals have made here, it's extremely unlikely that any party would do so - repealing a law widely publicised as a public safety measure would be political suicide.

So yes, this law, garbage though it may be, is here to stay - regardless of the outcome of the fall election. The question is, will you reward the Liberals by putting them back in office for another term.

Ignatieff is as right wing as somebody is going to be coming from the liberal side. Truth be told, I wouldn't mind him all that much. The Conservative party in Ontario is disgraceful in that they support Liberal bills just to appeal to the majority of the population...As if they think they'll actually sway votes in this province, it's a lost cause and all they're doing is furthering the liberal agenda.
