Rant on Power Supply

The auction ended on the 8th, and UPS didn't receive it until the 17th. GOD DANG THAT PISSES ME OFF. If I'm going to pay a standard $10 shipping fee (rounded up, it was 9.99 or something like that) then I better get it sooner! :banghead:

That sucks, whenever I sell something on eBay I package it up before hand so once it sells all I have to do is drop it off. I do that because I hate slow shipping when I buy something so I won't do that to someone else.

meissen 10-22-2005 07:58 AM

Yeah, same here. Well, I don't have it packaged before hand, but when it sells then I have it dropped off at UPS by the next day, two days at the latest.

archemedes 10-22-2005 08:16 AM

I always say in my auctions to allow 2 weeks. Some people don't have time to ship constantly, especially if it's a store. He may also be doing a drop ship where he sends the order to another company and they ship it as if it came from him.$10 for UPS isn't bad 1 pound is about $7 from here to MI. Be patient, if you wanted it fast you should have asked for priority mail

paarman97maro 10-22-2005 03:59 PM

that isnt bad... i waited about a month and a half once.. that was the worst scenario though

camaro94 10-24-2005 01:36 AM

I just had a similar problem. Said in the auction 2-3 days at most to ship, and it was over a week, almost two before I got the shipping notice.

NoRiceInside 10-24-2005 03:25 AM

ya know what i hate, when people jack up the price of shipping to cut a profit, then wait 2 weeks to ship it. i ordered some whiteface gauges on ebay the 9th and then some exhaust tips on the 14th...well i got my tips the 19th...still waiting on my gauges...

meissen 10-24-2005 08:19 AM

Yeah exactly. If they want to jack up the S&H more but they give it to UPS like same day or next day, I can live with that. Whenever I ship something out, the moment I see that the auction is ended and that I've been paid, I box it up and put it in my car and usually will have it out that day or the next day at the very latest. I talked to the guy some more, he sent me a UPS tracking number (Which for some reason he didn't just give to me as soon as he shipped it out) and it'll be here today. :) What really pisses me off about the whole situation is that I asked him last weekend on the 15th or 16th if my power supply was shipped out yet, he said "yeah, you should be getting it any day now." When I got the UPS tracking info this weekend from him, UPS's earliest record of the package was the 17th, saying it was received by UPS.

archemedes 10-24-2005 04:14 PM

I mark up the shipping because I have to pay for packing materials, and the ebay calculator is wrong many times (on a sub I just shipped it was off by $10 using the same info on the websites, and even using their shipping thing it came up different)

paarman97maro 10-24-2005 05:09 PM

Just go to ups or usps and get a sheet with all the prices for everything... thats what i did

that's fine for when you ship, but if you are shipping to every country and want the people to know what they will spend it doesn't work (people don't tend to buy with a fixed shipping cost, tehy think you are ripping them off)

meissen 10-24-2005 10:20 PM

the ************ won't work.

at that point you give them ups.com or usps.com and tell them the weight and have them add it up. They have charts on the site for price, weight and size in the booklet I got

yes but how does the customer get the quote? If they have to send a message they go to the next guy. Keep in mind I get somewhere near 1000 unique visitors to my auctions a day, if every one of them asked me for a shipping quote I'd be here all day answering emails
