In Rememberance...

Take a moment today to remember the lives lost 5 years ago.

Where were you and what were you doing? :ne_nau:

I stayed home sick that day... I remember waking up and seeing somthing on the news and changing it... After about 5 channels still showing the same thing, I finallly watched in horror. I actually saw the second plane hit.

God Bless :usa1: :usflag: :usa2:

I was in college in Florida. My roommate came into the room as said that terriost had just attacked us. That's when I went out and sat on the couch watching the tv with the janitor. I woke up late so it was after all three planes had hit but I saw the large top chunk of the south tower fall and then the entire thing come down.
I will never forget it.

I was a senior in highschool and going into my JROTC class right when the first plane hit.. the rest of the day was nothing except us plastered to the TV screen in every class awe-struck. I am a huge supporter of our military, and words cannot express how I feel about something as huge as this, except to say.. God bless america, and live every day of your life, knowing that some people, many people, have given their lives to make yours as it is today.

I was working at a print shop.I couldn't hear the radio too well because of my press being too loud,so all that I caught was that there was a plane crash. It didn't sound like anything big at the time, due to me not hearing any details. Then they brought a t.v. into the breakroom .I could see into it from my press, and just couldn't believe it.I just wanted to go home.Even though we were no where near NY,I still wanted to talk to my Dad,brothers, and b/f.
I went home and watched the news the rest of the day.
Living close by the airport my whole life,it was very strange not seeing any planes fly over for awhile.
I was supposed to go wedding dress shopping that evening.....didn't seem quite right to do something like that after all that had happened.

oh yeah, and I lost my job 2 weeks later due to not having enough work.

I was at school, junior year, and my first class of the day was history, and my english teacher locked the doors and turned out the lights and said "**** administration, they cant tell us not to watch our history" and turned on the news anyway for us to watch

It was kind of the opposite for me. Our college wasn't to far from a military base so for the next couple days we saw jet figthers in the air constently. That was wierd, not only because we were seeing so many of them but they were so close to the ground as well.
Very spooky, then I had to fly the next week back up here to WI and that was strange. There were almost no planes leaving and then entire airport was filled with the military. I mean it was packed with them.
I still feel bad to this day though. I do the same thing everytime I fly. I get there super early so I don't have to rush, I stop by the Starbucks and get something to drink, then I stop by the news stand and pick up some magazines to read on the plane. Well this time I picked up Time's special eddition done on it and I was reading it on the plane and the guy sitting next to me kept looking over at it with this terrified look on his face. That's when I realized he was afraid of flying and I certianlly wasn't helping.

It was my senior year in high school and I was home watching tv when all of a sudden a special news report came on and showed the damage of the first plane hitting the building.I could'nt believe my eyes that something like that happened, then minutes later...it happened again! Now I was pi**ed off and thinkin it was the end of the world!
