Science Fiction Lovers

I'm actually watching a marathon of the new Outer Limits series and was wondering if anyone else enjoys watching Sci Fi shows on TV? My favorite was Stargate SG-1, especially the vintage years (seasons 1-3). How about you?

My favourite show is Doctor Who.

I've never really been a fan of the outer limits or the twilight zone which it seems to try to emulate.

I liked the first 3 seasons of the X Files, they should have stopped after that many series as it started to go down hill rapidly.

I also like the Stargate Franchise, the latest spinoff looks good.

I am a DW fan as well, and Torchwood, but I am a little bummed at the Children of the Earth deal (it was good, don't get me wrong). I am just bummed that now DW will be coming back on "Syfy" but TW is gone for good.

My husband and I watch Outer Limits all the time. Sometimes I think the story is a little silly but most of them are pretty good. I noticed that the channel now says SyFy instead of SciFi. When did they change that? I just saw it yesterday.

I really enjoyed the Hex series. I hadn't seen it before and started watching it online somewhere and now I'm hooked. Does anyone know if the series is still going on?

Sci Fi became Syfy just a couple of weeks ago, though it's been in the planning stages for well over a year. A lot of viewers are worried about the name change. It seems Syfy is a bit broader and with wrestling already part of the equation, no one is certain what that means for its future.

Re: Stargate Universe, I'm not sure. I'm curious to see Lou Diamond Philips, but I'm not fond of the powers that be who run the Stargate franchise. I will watch the pilot because both Richard Dean Anderson and Michael Shanks will be in it, albeit not much of it.

Have any of you watched an old series called "One Step Beyond"? It was on about the time of the original Twilight Zone but it was based on actual stories that people swore were true. I've seen some of the series and it is rather interesting. If you can find copies of it on the internet, I highly recommend it.

Hmm I don't know where you got the info that TW is gone for good, there are negotiations going on to produce a 4th series. So don't give up hope yet.

I love Sci Fi, (yes I know they changed to Sy Fy, but I'm sticking with Sci Fi). I really liked Battlestar Galactica and I watch Dr. Who every once in a while.

The Stargate shows were pretty good too.

And I even like the movies they have on there (you know the ones that are obvious knock offs of Hollywood movies, but with a much smaller budget.)

I've seen a few of the One Step Beyond episodes. I like a lot of those type of shows. I must admit, though, that I was one of the protesters against the current Battlestar Galactica show. It really made me angry. They absolutely destroyed the original series, which I'm very loyal to. I decided to take the advice of Edward James Olmos, who told potential viewers early on that if they were diehard fans of the original than not to watch the new BG. It was good advice.

I really thought it was gone, hmm, will have to keep a watchful eye out then. And Hex, I tried to watch that show but they always screwed up the air times for me so I would watch a new/a repeat/a repeat/a new, I got tired of it and gave up.
