Some PC help..
So.. i've got an odd problem. I was on the computer the other night, and was pretty messed up... and I changed my administrator account password. Its windows xp sp2, and I dont have a password backup disc, and the copy of windows I have is a crack version so I cant just reinstall windows.
Anyone know a way around this? Somehow to reset the admin password? I dont want to loose all of my data, and I have no way to back it all up. |
if u have a 2nd account with admin they can change it for u .or possibly when u boot the comp try the screens like f8 or f2 w.e it is im pretty sure dell has a pw reset on there or something

take it to geek squad and pay 59 dollars to get the password removed.
dell has a bios pasword remover, windows doesn't. |
yea id say take it to geek squad, i cant think of any other way

wow mike, you guys charge $59? We only charge $29.
But if youre lucky, you could find a program to do it for you possibly. If you dont remember it at all, you might be sol like someone else said if thats the only admin account. Then I say yeah geek squad will be the cheapest time saving alternative. |
Don't you dare take it to GeekSquad. Waste of money.
Phate, Google a tool called "DreamPack PL". You will need another PC with a CD-burner. What it does is creates a boot CD using an original Windows XP CD that disables your administrator password. It will tell you how to use it. |
^... Google it.
