Sperm Bank

Okay, I know this is kind of an odd question... okay, really odd.

I have been really really short on money lately, in fact I owe my parents quite a bit for helping me out, but I need a way to make money besides my job. Selling drugs is not in the question guys lol.

Anyway, I am thinking about looking into sperm donation. I know there are many ups and downs of it, probably the biggest down is I dont want to run into a 'meet the fockers' situation if I may, by running into a kid that looks like me someday lol. I actually am looking past that, and all I see is $. So I am asking if anyone feels that I need to be talked out of this idea, do so. Otherwise, let me know the ups and downs of this idea. Just remember I am in need of some cash... Im living less than paycheck to paycheck right now.

Aside from the obvious answer: :lolsign: :lolsign: :eleph: :eleph:

I don't see any real negatives.

Mike Jones 11-25-2005 04:00 PM

I don't see any real negatives.
What I always did when I needed cash was go to Baxter Healthcare. My dad's an scientist there and they pay good money for what they need. For blood I think they only pay like $120 but for things like plasma they shell out some good money since they really need it for creating new machines and medicines.

97z2801ss 11-25-2005 04:06 PM

thatwould be a good deal!

69z-28 11-25-2005 05:15 PM

NoRiceInside 11-25-2005 08:12 PM

LMAO...

Well I will look into it more when I get back home. I just need some sort of way to get some money fast. And yes, sadly enough to some, I would save it towards my turbo. Thanks for all your opinions.

archemedes 11-26-2005 02:32 PM

there is nothing wrong with getting paid for it, think of it as helping some poor young lady fullfill a dream

McGruff 11-26-2005 02:56 PM

you could always get a better job.

paarman97maro 11-26-2005 05:14 PM

Yeah I applied for Best Buy last week (for the 4th time now), Im hoping that I can get hired there. I know its not much better, but at least its somthing that I would enjoy doing, and would help out with my future career.

SOMBirdV6 11-26-2005 07:47 PM

I had an interview at best buy and never got called back. :(

Wonder if I should apply again? (after christmas that is haha)

paarman97maro 11-26-2005 08:21 PM

I applied back in July, and they called me in august saying I would have to reapply becuase I wasnt moving til the end of august and their applications expire in 30 days. I thought that was ********, so I just transfered my current job and have worked there. Now that my friend works there, he talked to the manager so I should be getting a call here soon. Ill call when I get back home.

archemedes 11-26-2005 08:38 PM

best buy doesn't hire people with knowledge regularly (I've done 4 interviews with them, and finally was told I can't be hired because I know too much, and they want the guy who knows enough to be dangerous so they can pay them less)

paarman97maro 11-26-2005 10:25 PM

I meant if I move to geek squad, that would be good to add to my resume since my major is ITT.

anyway, best buy will pay me more than taco johns, so I cant argue that.

RFF 11-26-2005 10:48 PM

Nothing beats jerkin while workin.

Have you left your house??? The retail business is hiring like crazy for the holiday season, granted that really isn't a good job, but you dont just wake up one day, decide to be a doctor, apply for a job, and get it... Seriously though, you can't walk outside your house without getting offered a job this time of the year. Retail might suck, but you can probably score around $10-$12 an hour, which is pretty decent with nothing brought to the table...

It would probably help in the long run. Don't listen to what Arch says about knowing too much, that is the biggest load of ******** I have ever heard, just don't go in there with the attitude that your **** doesn't stink and that right off the boat you are better than everyone else. Rome wasn't built in a day, and you're not going to go from Taco John's to a high paying tech. job.

As a matter of fact a few of my friends work at the Best Buy here, I just got off the phone with one and he said that typically guys get pulled off of the sales floor to go into the Geek Squad, so you might have to work your way up. He also said, depending on the size of the store, and if you have the guys that go to the houses to set stuff up, you might be able to apply for that right out of the box. I guess those guys get that little VW Bug to take home - hey its gay, but its free gas.

haha, yeah my friend that works there was telling me that he just gets to go over and work in geek squad sometimes, and hes a cashier. Which in a way scares me, because hes in the same classes I am, I wouldnt trust someone in their first semester of college working on my computer, but whatever. I really wouldnt care what job it is. Im into technology, so right off the bat I would be more into a job with that. As long as Im around it, and making more money, I will be satisfied for the time being.

The thing that sucks about retail is that once the holiday season is over you lose your job. That is why I'm waiting to early Jan. to go job hunting.

the best buys around here will not hire anyone if they put over $6 wage on their application.

There is a higher living expense here, so around $8 asking is not bad here.

I didn't feel like going back a page, so I'm quoting this one... But apparently technological experience is only needed to a certain extent in that job. I guess 90% of the computers that come in are pop ups or some 90 year old man that can't figure out how to take the icons off his desktop - so I wouldn't worry too much about your friend meandering over there.

McDonalds doesn't start at $10, unless you are shitting chicken nuggets or something - what the **** are you smoking Arch?

lol i agree.. I just heard when geek squad first came out that you needed experience to get into it, but I guess that was a load of bull.

archemedes 11-28-2005 10:02 PM

they are paying a ton here since they are so understaffed, everyone of the fast food places has had help wanted signs since before any of the hurricanes, and now it's even worse, they even did a job fair for burger places it was sad

they do those anyway here... thats even more sad lol

camaro94 11-29-2005 11:44 PM

and most retail jobs don't pay $10-12. Most retail starts in the $7-8 range, sometimes even as low as $6. And getting a retail job this time of year isn't that great, its only a temp position for the holidays, and you get cut as soon as the holiday seaon is over. So thats no help in the long run.
