BAHAHAH... Bell sucks for the internet... DSL is slow, and now these outrageous caps... lmao...

goneinsixtyseconds Dec 22, 2006 03:05 PM

i've never had anything but bad experiences with sympatico high speed. it was always insanely slow even when the central station was <10 km away. i'm currently using roger's extreme and it rocks, sure there's a bandwith limit too, but at 100gb (upload/download) it is perfectly reasonable for the average user. i find roger's service to be awesome, downloads are super-fast and the service drops maybe once every 2 months? not even, so very stable service.

and Roger's doesn't enforce their bandwidth cap... people go over by almost another 100 Gig's and never even hear a peep out of Rogers.

that's good to know, i went over a few times by about 500 mb and was worried that they were going to break down my door and rip the docsis modem out :)

drifter420 Dec 22, 2006 04:21 PM

Rogers sent me a few emails before cause I Was sharing programs.. :loser:
and gave me the :nono:

But that was a long time ago and it was shortly after I went with them.. the only thing I don't like bout Rogers is that they monitor you

Rogers over bell, regardless, both of them provide shitty customer service and a crappy network, sadly, not much out there to choose from.

I too have received emails and follow up hardcopy mail regarding my bandwidth and usage.

Aww well, Rogers FTW

drift_n_shift Dec 22, 2006 11:18 PM

RIIIICCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHH You should do a burn out in the bell parking lot to stick it to them :lol_hitti

Ive had both Rogers and Sympatico.
when I first moved to the new house, we go Bell. and what a nightmare. for teh first month it did not work, I tried everything, they finally after many calls, sent a techy to my house, apperantly my phone line in the basement is not conected properly and they had to re-do it, only catch was it was $200 extra. I told the tech, **** off, and I called Bell right after, told them to cancel it and **** off.
Got Rogers, the guy came, took 1/2 hour, no charge, set it up and everything, and worked brilliant.

only bad about Rogers, is like others said, using BT sucks on it. but I love it. for gaming, its the best, no slowdowns at all.

Viperoni Dec 23, 2006 07:42 AM

The problem with DSL is that Bell's infrastructure is lacking heavily for a lot of people. I can only support a fairly slow profile compared to cable, but at least with my ISP, I can host any kind of server, and no ports are throttled or blocked in any way.

BadAssGN Dec 23, 2006 09:38 AM

I have sympatico ultra high speed, it's okay I guess, we have all bell services becaust my wife is an employee and we get free service for the part of bell she works for and the rest of the stuff is discounted.

Sympatico is quite slow at times, if I were running a buisness it would not be acceptable, but it not so bad for watching vids and the stuff we use the internet for.

rogers isn't doing any bettter either
