Tensions are starting to build in home town.
 

I live in southwest Louisiana about 30 minutes east of the Texas boarder(Lake Charles for reference). Over the past couple days the survivors have been placed in the local Civic and Rec Centers. All of sudden at work today we started selling locking gas caps and fuel containers like crazy. Turns out several people have had their tanks sucked dry. Another thing is that their are rumors that in the city of Lake Charles crimes is going through the roof. 15-20 car jackings just in a single day, massive theift of personal property, and people being robbed. It got to the point where primetime television was interrputed by local news saying calls were flooding the local sheriff office. Later the mayor claimed all these were fake which is BS (or at least he is playing down the situtation). One of my coworkers is good friends with one of the officers and he told us he had been drawing his gun all day. On an average day he doesn't even have to draw his gun but he said things are getting a bit rough. I have heard the same from other police officers I know. Just from working with customers today you can tell tensions are running high and some people are getting pissed off. I'm a pretty much laid back kind of guy but this bothers me. I don't like the increased tension I'm feeling at work. It is so thick you can almost see it like a fog on an early spring mourning. The increase state police patrols are not helping either, it is obviouse law enforcement is having to step up it's game. The thought of the N.O. kids having to to go to the local schools is bothering people too it seems. I don't think anything is going to happen but people are loading up and locking their gear down expecting the worst.

That sucks hopefully it gets better asap

Yea my at my store we were selling them lockin gas caps like crazy, then some dirtbag came in and came up the counter with a siphin (sp?) pump and asked for 5 feet of fuel line, that pissed me off so much i felt like punching him right in the ****** face. at the end of the night i had 15 PDQ orders just for gas caps....

Not only there Houston is having problems now to, There have been rumors of people coming in fast here to DFW.

we have had the same trouble, there is a line for the local gas station about a mile or so, most of the tags are mississippi, some neighbors are having their tanks syphined

Yep, they started here with the gas siphoning, too. I will probably be looking for a locking gas cap myself. I'm not too worried about where I live, but at work I am. Tension is starting to come from evywhere, along with plenty of rumors here, and you're right in the action. Stay safe. Sometimes its better to prepare for the worst.

Its kinda crazy thinking and worrying about all this but when your out and about everything seems fine and normal. Maybe its to soon to expect anything dun dun dun!

x2, im thinking of getting a locking gas cap, never thought about it until the guy at napa was talking about how many people are buying them, and considering the neighborhood right next to mine. im sick of all the bs and a$$holes out here. i just found out who egged my car, a couple of pot head freshman and a nasty stoner chick whose my age. its rediculous and im sick of it, there are these 2 punks who are a year younger than me and together about half the size of me who think they can give me ****. they better stfu or ill do it for em, 69z-28 you know what im talking about you have come real close a few times (haha, remember when you threw him off his electric scooter)

im thinking about getting one too... it was funny, i went to wal mart and i asked the guy "do you sell locking gas caps?" he replies "nope, sold out of them all last friday".. "oh...****" i say... as i take two steps away i almost thought about turning right back around and saying "do you have any spyphons?" lol, just for a joke, would have been funny

Yea i had a few people come up to the counter at work and ask if we sell syphons at work.. i told them no even though we have them right out on the shelves lol
