For those who use the HOV lane..

When it says do not cross the marked line, its not an invitation to change out of the lane. It just proves your a bad driver and that you cant read. I've seen 3 accidents from people changing out of the HOV lane when they weren't supposed to in 2 weeks.

That would involve the general population being able to READ let alone speak either of the two official Canadian languages.

Especially PEEL. (403)

LOL.....so true, been on there a few weeks ago with my family and some guy with a lil winterbeater civic passes me on the lane even though it was only him in the car, i wasn't even driving slow either

sorry, i just moved from the states. What is the HOV lane, ive heard people talking about it?

Gonads 09-16-2007 09:17 AM

The HOV lane is a car pool lane that is available for people to use if they have 2 or more people in the car. Some places it's 3 people in the car. It's a good idea but people seem to abuse it quite often...

Thanks for the info man. Well that is a really good idea, can't they get a ticket if they abuse it though?

Gonads 09-16-2007 02:45 PM

ohh yeah they can get a ticket, but i dont really know how much it is and if it is enough to keep them from doing it again!

Kuztom Freak 09-16-2007 08:14 PM

HOV = High Ocupancy Vehicle

Theres one in Misserysauga along the 403 and one out on the 400 between Hwy 407 and the 401

I've been in these lanes a couple of times and sometimes feel that it is slower in regular traffic - esp when some clown in doing 90 - 110Km/Hr in it, I've yet to be in one during lots of slow traffic

There are no demerit points associated with improper use of an HOV lane. I believe the set fine is $85 plus victim surcharge.

Viperoni 09-20-2007 02:40 PM

I've used it as a passing lane for stupid people driving slow in the regular left lane.

I think it's a complete waste of time, some people just can't find somebody to carpool with.

TTZ_JSpec 09-20-2007 06:10 PM

Well, if people in canada learned how to drive *cough**cough*
