US Military man charged with murdering two Iraqi's

He was dealing with two Iraqi's that moved their body in a threatening way so he had shot and killed both of them thinking they were attacking him, and now he's being charged with premeditated murder against the two Iraqi's. It disgusts me that they would charge a soldier for second guessing his decision.

Not quoting the site because it's freaking long. They make some points to say he was blatantly murdering the two, so I'm pointing that out now, but regardless he made the decision at a time when his fellow soldiers are being battered by attacks.

Well if it was the other way around and iraqi people were doing that, what would you say about that? its no different.... Its still pretty stupid.. if they did move in a way that seemed like it threatened him or others than i could understand.

archemedes 04-26-2005 09:49 PM

seems he went too far, but everything is being brought on by his radio operator that may or may not have been reassigned because of teh suspect sounds fishy to me (still too many rounds, but I wasn't there and don't know the state of mind)

meissen 04-26-2005 10:26 PM

yeah i mean no one can really be there (judge wise) to state whether or not it was a good decision unless they were there at the time, IMO. And while I understand what ya mean, Paul, it wouldn't really ever be the other way around because the US people don't suicide bomb everyone and aren't doing all these insurgent bombings (if that makes any sense) to the Iraqi's.

A nuclear bomb would solve this problem.

meissen 04-26-2005 11:52 PM

Amen to that one. I've said from the start that instead of sending our military men to Iraq we should've just bombed the **** out of them and gotten rid of all the problems in the middle east.

Don't talk like a man. Sit back down in your chair and let the big boys make those kinds of decisions.

It disgusts me that you would take the time to post this and respond by saying how stupid it is, and yet you know nothing of the Geneva Conventions.

Don't make me bring out the stun gun.

archemedes 04-27-2005 02:07 AM

I would like more information myself before I decide what was right or wrong (I still say teh number of shots was excessive)also if he thought the car had explosives why riddle the car with hot ammo isn't that the last thing you'd want to do? Josh you would be the expert in this would that be sop?

yep, agreed but what if it was the other way around, I say let the boys over there do their jobs.. whose to say he was right or wrong... **** liberals

exactly. It just seems like the media is really trying to all this anti-war propaganda. There are thousands of service men over there, stop making the military look bad by broadcasting the individuals that are the lemons of the group, y'kno? It's like when there was that one media storm about the soldier that shot an Iraqi that was apparently unarmed in that mosque during a raid... they do everything they can to make this war seem like it was totally uncalled for just because they're against it. Why not be unbiased, it's their job to report the news it should be reported in an unbiased neutral way, not reporting all this propaganda to make something look bad just because they're against it. In any case, I think ya said it best, Tony... Just let them do their job and get back here safely.

RFF 04-27-2005 12:45 PM

Let the news report what they want, the whole thing about the soldier killing an unarmed Iraqi was not really a big deal, the news organizations made a bigger deal out of the Shivo case then the Iraq incident.

archemedes 04-27-2005 02:51 PM

the media in certain areas can be more anti war than the national news though (around some military bases the people get anti military for some reason)
