trim levels. I'll use Toyota as an example. CE- base, cloth, hard plastic, small engine, cheapo modelLE- midlevel, nice cloth, better materials, decent priceSE- midlevel, nice cloth, decent materials, sportier, a bit pricer than the LEXLE, XLS - loaded, leather, soft materials, powerful, smooth engine, somewhat expensiveChevy does it- LS, LT, LTZFord does it S, SE,SEL, Limited

SE means special edition LX luxury edition (really mid trim level) DX entry level. I believe "LE" is a Toyota trim level. EX used to mean extra and denoted a larger engine option.
