VR, or 1.8t? Good choice in cars BTW.

Somehow I knew you would be the first to post.

My boss is telling me not to get it because they are nothing but a headache. I seem to think he might be right because all I've ever heard about the VW's is the electrical nightmares they are.

Well, I can forget that idea, another guy I work with just bought it :dunno: Too slow!

TurboSupra12 07-22-2006 12:43 PM

I woulda bought it. Nice cars.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you work at Mazda? Why would your boss want his employees driving inferior cars? :loser:

rabbitman 07-27-2006 04:14 PM

Because his boss knows a nice car when he sees it. He works at Mazda to see what not to do.

Sorry to inform you dubs arent worth the tag, headache, and slow acceleration and poor performance, all to hear a PPPSSSSSTTTT.

haymaker 07-31-2006 06:12 PM

go 1.8 t all the way i hate vr6's too much trouble in my past and if you are going turbo anyways dooooo it you wonT!! haha

voltar 07-31-2006 07:47 PM

VR is an amaizing engine. I'd love to get a 03 GTI, if you're getting a good deal go for it, those dubs are so much fun to drive, but can be a bit of a headache at times, treat it well and it'll usually treat you well.

I should put in my 2 cents.
I use to avoid vw b4, the mk3 gti wasnt a super reliable car (vr6), however, they are quick and fun to drive.
My wife bought a 2000 gti 1.8t last year, and wow what a difference. Yes, the 150hp isnt that quick, but I changed that by chipping it. That little car now eats maxima's.
Its too late now (that car is sold), but for your knowledge the 1.8t is the best gas engine vw makes.

No, haven't worked for CP in a while, I'm working for GM now at Foss. Doesn't matter anyways, the car was bought by someone else I work with. No more WWD for me anyways.

My sis picked up a 2001 golf. Similar to the one in that pic, Its true that there are some electrical problems, seeing how once she phucked around with the stereo the check engine light has been on ever since.

These have amazing handling though!. Not to mention peppy!. Even though when you sit in it you feel as if you could run faster then the car.

I'd buy it if i wasnt into Talons/3000gt's/Subbys/Ferraris etc etc

Seb
