When will it happen to me?

My best buddy Todd who is going to UTI in Arizona gave me a call last night. He bought a 07 R6 this year and only had this particular bike for a month or two. Well he called me then he told me that he had just crashed his bike! Luckily hes ok and not too messed up...and bikes got a few grand in damage. He said he was comming around a corner where a bunch of sand had piled up from last nights rain and his bike just went out from under him. He said he wasnt going very fast and wasnt messing around.....was only a mile from his house

Such a bummer and makes me hope i dont end up down in the future. Hes much more responsible than i am as i am more of a loose cannon on bikes than he is.

Seeing buddies get hurt or messed up in accidents makes you wonder...when will this happen to me/you?

This is the whole reason I dont have a bike anymore. I cant trust myself with a car, let alone a bike.

But stay safe Brian, take it easy out there.

Every year I think about putting the money up for a bike but that's the exact reason I never do.
I'm thinking about buying an early '90's Ninja or something for cheap and just ride that.
If I did buy one I wouldn't ride it to work, ride on busy roads, but just use it for fun.

But please stay safe Brian, you can get really messed up on a bike.

UTI in AZ huh? I got a cousin who goes there. Anyway, sorry to hear about your friend, bikes are dangerous, we had a close family friend get in a really bad accident about 3 years ago, he walks with a cane now. So be careful!

thanks for the comments guys.

im picking him up from the airport tonight cause hes coming back for a couple days so it should be interesting to see pics of his $10,000 bike in pieces.

and yes i should settle a bit. the only issue i have (and im sure many here do too) is that when i get a big scare like close calls.....it doesnt take me long at all to get over it. like when some people get a ticket they slow down for a year and be cautious. when i nearly go down on my bike, i get a rush and crack the gas. sounds retarted im sure but i dont think im the only one like this
