It was the axle causingt he problem? Make sure your rotor has not worn uneven.

So Caleb, how hard was it to change that axle shaft out? If Epic needs it could you help?

Not hard at all, I had to change mine when I tried to see how my car could handle offroad.

yeah i checked it out with a straight edge. its perfect. the squeak was just the rotor pushing on the pads, making them scratch and squeak.

yeah i can do it for ya. very easy. wait...i'd have to look at a good pic of the LSD before i could. mine is an open dif and is easier to take apart...but anyway it isnt much different. i can do it no prob.

not much different both use c clips to hold the axle

NoRiceInside 01-23-2005 12:26 AM

yeah but the springs and clutches inside...

archemedes 01-24-2005 12:17 AM

are bolted in you don't mess with them

NoRiceInside 01-24-2005 12:26 AM

really? sweet.

anyway this axleshaft was such an awesome thing. today i went cruising for like an hour and i had the windows down the whole time. it was great. nice and peaceful. unless i got on it. then there was a roar. but thats better than a constant, persistant *squeak*squeak*squeak*. life is good. i am no longer haunted by the sound. haha yesterday though i heard a car outside my house hitting the brakes and the brakes squeaked and it made me cringe hearing that, but it was okay cuz i know it wasnt carmen :D
