Best Laptop Brands

Allright, so what are the best brands of laptops out there? I need something I can surf the net and game on, and something with battery life. Lightweight preferable, but if it's got to be heavier to last longer and not have me calling tech support every other month I can deal with it.

I've had a Toshiba for a while now, but I hear Lenovo's got some pretty decent notebooks, too. Suggestions?

I'd keep your Toshiba, I'm looking at getting a Toshiba myself. I did have a Sony Vaio a really old one, but that stopped working, I got it second hand. Got a couple more good years out of it though.

Toshiba makes a decent laptop. I also like Dell laptops, believe it or not. They are usually pretty decent in terms of battery life and computing power for the price you pay.

Stay away from HP though, they make great printers, but not so good laptops.

I've got an Acer Aspire and it's not too bad. It's what I could get for the money I had. I watch a lot of video on it and I haven't had any trouble yet. I don't do a lot of gaming but what I do, it seems to handle OK.

I guess to each his own because I only buy HP laptops. We have 3 in our household and they work day in and day lout, like a charm. I like the Dells too but I've had a few issues with them from time to time.

I am borrowing my friends Dell right now and it doesn't seem to be to bad. I wonder what the cheapest "good" laptop cost? Any idea?

I refuse to buy Dell...we have a bad relationship, lol. I got my first Toshiba for 1400 at a student bookstore at my college, and loved it. Wasn't the fastest, though, but I guess I can fix that by looking for one with more memory this time around.

I use a Toshiba and its been wonderful 'knock on wood.' If you are interested in gaming you want to look into the processor and video cards. they tend to cost quit a bit more. I use my desktop for major gaming only. If I have to I remote desktop into my main computer for a solid connection.

I do have a soft spot for IBM lap tops because I have fat figures.

good luck.
