DVD movie question

Ok so this pretty off topic but I wanna start downloading films and burn them on DVD discs. I see on bittorrent that there's alot of dif kinds of films varying from 700-4.5 GB in size. How do I know which ones will give me near perfect quality on TV. I downloaded some of the 4+ files and they're good and all but I heard that some files were compressed nicely but will still give you a great picture. Also do these compressed files need to be uncompressed before burning and how?

thanks in advance

I havent seen too many current dvd's that have less than 6 GB of data on them, unless you're talking about just the movie and not the menus and features then 4.5 GB seems right.

I would go after the vids that are like 4.7 gigs. I've downloaded 600-700mb compressed bs vids and they compress everything including video and audio quality and it's disgusting when watching. It's just a bitch b/c it takes so damn long to download.
BTW when you download you do have to uncompress the file b/c usually it's in zip or rar format, then you just burn the video files. Unless you download an avi or mpeg file, then uncompression is not needs, you can just burn the file.

Well i've been file sharing music and games for a while and Bittorrent outside of mIRC and FTPs is the absolute fastest way to get full albums and games and apparently movies.

Thanks for the info guys
