I use InterVideo WinDVD Creator, works great. All my burn't DVD's play in my PS2 no problem.

Intervideo is good if you are just looking to get the get the video off the Cam and onto a DVD.
for any Editing, I use Adobe Encore with Adobe Photoshop/illustrator

you can also convert avi to dvd with it.
