judgez24 12-08-2007 07:36 AM

thanks. ill post a pic of my mustang poster later on if i dont forget.

rick come down this way im sure i can get you a much better deal than what youll pay up your way for a tv.

as for price, a friend of my dads own a tv shop and i believe this was the alst one of these he had so he just wanted to get rid of it. so the final cost for this bad boy was 2500 taxes included with a satelite reciever :D

DDM 12-09-2007 09:44 PM

nice pickup!:smilie_da

You will enjoy watching movies in HD. I go to my cousins house all the time to watch a movie now hahaha

judgez24 12-10-2007 07:44 AM

thanks, im looking into an hd dvd player right now with some surround sound. and then i have to start buying dvd's in hd, lol. got well over 300 non hd, shoulda started my collection in hd years ago

pizzaboy1320 12-18-2007 11:56 PM

Wow that's big. Very nice

trek2300 01-08-2008 07:29 PM

72"!!!! Wow, please hook me up with your friend haha... i may get one very soon, but cannot afford 72" I think...

judgez24 01-08-2008 08:10 PM

shes defiantly a treast to watch. i think in the next week or so im gonna get the xbox 360 hd dvd drive. been torn between hd and blueray and i sjut dont wanna spend the money on bklue ray. plus with the hd drive you get a movie and then a mail in thing for 5 more so you cant beat that.even watching regular dvds through the 360 with a non hd drive looks fantastic

Gonads 01-08-2008 08:21 PM

yes you can. ps3 comes with 5 bluerays free

thats if you buy a ps3 between now and feb 28th.

judgez24 01-08-2008 10:46 PM

and whats a ps3 worth? and xbox 360 player has the same features

Gonads 01-09-2008 02:22 AM

yeah well i guess, they all do the same stuff.

but i thought we were talking blue ray vs HDdvd.

judgez24 01-09-2008 07:32 AM

we are, ps3 plays blu rays though but is still 200 bucks more expensive than the hd dvd add on for the 360 i already own. if i didnt own a 360 id probably go ps3 because the overall cost would be cheaper. heres whats weird, ps3 40 gig, 400 bucks, 80 gig, 500 bucks. whats the deal with that? why do you need such a big hd on these things?

so anyone else hear that blu ray is now pretty much cornering the market and that the big move makers are only supposedly releasing their movies in blu ray format and not in hd? thats the rumor i heard. i doubt ill buy a blu ray player anytime soon as i really dont like the price of it and the movies are still a bit more expensive

Gonads 01-09-2008 05:04 PM

well the diff. between 40 and 80 gig is the size, but also reverse playback of ps1 and 2 games, usb ports for controllers to charge and keyboard and mouse use. also the photo camera card ports and such. on top of all that a polished front piece on the 80 gig.

the size difference comes in handy if you like downloading expansion packs for games and add ons. some of them are pretty cool. guitar hero and rock band have a whole bunch of songs to download.

and yeah i heard something along the same lines in the morning on the radio about the whole no HD thing. Communism i tell yah. lol

judgez24 01-09-2008 11:02 PM

haha man i know it is, but if sony has proven us anything its that their lack of compitance screws up any new technology they try to bring out, so just give it some time, lol.

lots of differences huh. i think for now ill go hd and once its completely ruled out ill go blu ray, by then the players should be reasonably priced

Gonads 01-09-2008 11:06 PM

yeah, thats seems like a good idea. like u mentioned before, sony screws everything up the first time.

DDM 01-10-2008 04:10 AM

Warner bros just switched over to BLU RAY only. They were releasing movies in both HD-DVD and Bluray and made an announcement that they are going Bluray exclusively. So far Blu ray has 5 out of 7 of the MAJOR movie companies...

If you don't feel the need to buy one right away... then just wait it out. People are saying that the PS3 price will drop again soon due to the high sales of blu ray disc movies and games.

I own both ps3 and 360 and it doesn't matter for me haha...

judgez24 01-10-2008 10:20 PM

i think ill jsut buy the hd drive and then blu ray if it wins the war, althgouh all hd movies are gonna be sold super cheap used after that :D

lowbalt 01-12-2008 02:59 AM

150"? wtf? man that is ginormous.

i dont have a house big enough to put that in. i'd have to watch it in my back yard.

judgez24 01-20-2008 02:02 PM

haha yeah man, id strap it to the back of my house and play pirated movies for all my neighbours, lol

judgez24 01-20-2008 03:44 PM

thanks man, i dont watch football but the ufc was fantastic to watch last nite on it :D

2TONE_93GT 01-20-2008 03:56 PM

My new tv is coming Tuesday Judge, i still got nothing though on that one you got.

I bought a new 50" plasma with full wall mount / swivel setup.

Now, im not a big console fan, but everyone here is saying to get a wii. I only have a ps2 which i rarely play, but i've been thinking maybe a ps3 ?

Anyhow, i will fire some pictures up of the tv once i get it, home reno going on right now and this was the "light at the end of the tunnel" gift. LOL

judgez24 01-20-2008 08:29 PM

nice, we have a 46 inch in the living room and its hd aswell and the pciture doesnt comapre to the 72 inch. the 46 is 3 years old now.

i had some people over last nite for the ufc and one of my buddies said i should wall mount the 72. i looked at him adn almost slapped him in the mouth. the tv isnt heavy but wtf, ive got tall ceilings and all but why would i wall mount it, lol.

i think i might go ps3 next jsut for blu ray. im gonna wait for them to come down in price though and then ill make my choice.

everyone rants about the wii, i havent had a chance to play one yet but it seems like too much excercise. which is actually nice cause kids these days sit around and do nothing but play ont he computer, kinda like us but were all old fukers lol

judgez24 01-31-2008 11:27 AM

so my hd dvd player add on for my 360 came in yesterday. i hook it up, pop in a movie and think wow, this doesnt look all that great. cant figure out why but the picture is only slightly better than regular dvd through the 360. so i get to playing with the remote and find out my tv is only displaying a 720x480 signal from the xbox. so i play around a bit and try to figure out wtf is going on, then i dip into the xbox settings and find it, 1080i hd mode. put that on, and holy moly sweet crap, 100 times cleaner, brighter, sharper. its like ive upgraded to an hd tv all over again. the movies look amazing through this bitch and cod4, well lets just say its life like now, much more than it was before :D

DDM 02-01-2008 03:14 AM

yeah HD makes a huge diff in movies...

Does your xbox support HDMI?

If it does buy one off www.monoprice.com and hook it up through that... makes a world of difference over the cables that come in the box with it...:smilie_da

A790 02-01-2008 08:06 PM

Nice TV man! That's a beast.

Now... time to get rid of that ghetto-ass TV stand :D

I kid, I kid. Enjoy!

judgez24 02-01-2008 10:07 PM

lol, that tv stand was from my last big screen. it actually matches the tvs colors pretty good. plus, where the hell am i gonna find a stand for a 72 inch tv, lol. although i wouldnt mind a new stand so i can toss my dvd collection into it

judgez24 02-01-2008 10:08 PM

ddm, yes the box has an hdmi plug, and i already ordered my hdmi cable off ebay, shold be here next week :D

judgez24 02-01-2008 10:09 PM

also ive heard that the xbox doesnt support audio through hdmi, any insight on that?

rsmyth 02-04-2008 03:00 PM
