PS2 question

My brother in law's PS2 is having issues. Seems to only like playing the older games, any new games he gets it wont play. Im wondering if it needs to be modded in order to work, if anyone has some suggestions and or knows someone that could fix it i would appreciate it.

thanks

As in how old, bluebacks? Non-DVD games?

There are two lasers in a PS2, it's usually the one that reads CD's that breaks down, but sounds like this could be the other way around

i say go ahead and put a mod chip in it .

About 1 1/2 years after i bought my PS2 , it wasn't playing DVD's. just Games, and Cd's. Once i modded ( Mod chip is a "Magic 3") , it was workin like new .

Ohh yea in Pacific Mall theirs some game stores that will scam you. So just be carefull. The newest Chip should cost $100-120 with 3 games.
