Satellite internet?

I don't know much about satellite internet but have thought it would be a great thing to have. Can someone tell me more about it? How much does it cost? Is there a set up fee? Any information would be wonderful!

Broadband internet is really expensive. but all depends what you use it for...try galaxybroadband for more info...

Don't you have to pay a certain amount per month and then pay for minutes you use it too? I was looking at it but it was uber expensive for me and I abandoned the idea totally.

It really depends on the area you live in. Some TV Satellite providers can bundle in internet service for an additional monthly fee, just like they do with cable. Its still a pretty new concept and the service has had mixed reviews.

Some people like the idea of getting Satellite TV and internet, while others say its too expensive. Both agree that the internet slows way down or complete shuts down when it gets cloudy.

That's all I've got, hope it helps

It'll be good for remote areas, the only downside any adverse atmospheric conditions could knock out your connection. I looked at the prices a few years ago, quite expensive back then.

It should have come down in price considerably now.

It is good for places that are unable to receive cable and are stuck on dial up. I lived with someone who had this. The only problem is when it was storming. We would losing it for hours, sometimes days at a time.

I didn't even consider the problem that bad weather could cause. I don't want to be without my internet connection just because it's rainy or cloudy. I might stick with what I have for a while and maybe reconsider this once they work out the kinks.
