Wat do you use to RIP DVD

Just wonderin wat software people use.. Tried 1 click DVD... Nero has issue compressing movies and burning right for movies.. but great for games.. :hitwithro

for any DVD/CD iso, i use Alcohol 120%
for DVD to .avi, i use "super dvd ripper" (small program, but works really well imo)

my friend was telling me something about dvd decrypter, but i've yet to try it :dunno:

What issues are you having with Nero? I've never had a problem with my copy of Nero 7.

Spanky 10-14-2006 01:33 PM

I use CloneDVD, makes a perfect 1:1 copy

Raven1210 10-14-2006 02:26 PM

Basically it won't compress and rip a DVD movie :smilie_d0

1 click DVD does it decently.. but want to know wat other programs are out there that can compress and burn DVD movies

IceQue 10-15-2006 11:18 AM

Best program to use out there is dvd shrink.

But problem is you'll need to run DVD drecrypter or something that takes forever as it is.. with DVD drecrypter and DVD shrink.. there was more clickin and time consuming than I like..

1 click dvd and dvd 43 works great.. but can't be use it on the laptop cause it doesn't have 1gig+ of RAM.. other desktop and computer that has the program.. all run fine when it has 1gig or more of RAM.. so want somethin in the laptop thats just as easy and simple to use ( yea.. I know.. 512mB or RAM isn't much.. I will look into upgrading that on the laptop later on )

Yea, Clone DVD is great, makes exact 1:1 Copies of the disk by compressing the Video to fit onto a 4.3GB DVD-R(+R) or if you have a Dual Layer burner or don't mind using 2 DVD's it will make perfect 1:1 Copies.
I havn't run into a DVD that I couldn't do with DVD Copy, and I've done a couple hundred.
It also helps to either have 9GB+ free room on your hard drive, if you don't have a DVD-rom and DVD-RW or to have both a DVD-Rom to Rip it from and DVD-RW to write simultaniously

Can clone dvd remove the extras n such?

Ontittech 11-13-2006 03:30 PM

Yes,
Clone DVD gives you the option to Rip the Entire Disc, or just the main movie, along with allowing you to select what Audio/Subtitle Tracks it rips.
Anything that Clone DVD says will be compressed 65%-100% will look fine with the extra's and everything else, below 65% it can get a little chunky in high action moments, but I havn't had a real issue yet.

The other solution would be to buy a Dual Layer DVD Burner and Dual Layer DVD's and then all of your rips could be exact copies with no Compression.

use anydvd, it removes the encryptions
and dvdshrink will let u remove those extras

NOTORIOUS VR 11-22-2006 01:19 AM

4 programs... since a lot of the newer movies won't copy with anything else...

the main program is called RipIt4Me
then you need FixVTS
along with DVDshrink
and DVDcopy

These 4 programs together will let you copy ANY movie.
