Wireless Router

When I was with a major telephone company for telephone and internet, I bought a wireless router from them for about $180.00 believe it or not. (Yes, I'm an idiot but I didn't know you could get them for 50 bucks from Radio Shack). I've changed now to a local telephone/interwebs provider and the dratted thing won't work for me any longer. Looks like I've spent almost $200 for nothing. Is there a way I can work around their settings and use it for the new company?

Yes you can.

Find out what setting your lap top broadcasts, probably "G". A router should cost you around $80 to $100 bucks, then connect that with the modem from your internet provider.

Good luck.
