Are you serious?

try looking around for custom mounts maybe, never heard of this swap before though.. sounds interesting. the 2 dr coupe chassis, gutted with simple mods could make a pretty quick car, or an awesome auto-x'er too

I actually have had a guy on my AOL list for the last few years who did this. He used to have the same box as me until he began the Neon project. He's running the 2.4L SRT engine with a big turbo in a first generation Neon ACR coupe.

I'm not going to tell BoostedITR what he did because I don't want him to have to join Neon Canada.

^^^hahahah i just wonder if its a lot of work to do....

I woudn't imagine that it's any harder than a B18c turbo into a civic. BUT prepare to have extra oil in your trunk. The 2.4l was legendary for using oil, even when rebuilt/new.

The guy I know who did it is using a core engine from a Dodge Stratus, and then he just used all the factory SRT4 parts and built it to the same spec as the SRT4 engine. I think he's using the first generation Neon transmission with a modified differential (to prevent the pin from popping out) and the engine is run by Megasquirt.

i personally havnt heard of swapping the srt engine into the first gen neons but i have heard of quite a few swapps made on 2gn neons. even then, just to get a hold of the engine would be a mission unless u find a crashed srt, apperantly some dodge carravan's back in early 90s used same engine only NA so it had same block and head, a few ppl have swapped that engine in (ill get code for u soon) and then did work on it and found a turbo manifold and everything else
a first gen neon at srt power spec is quicker because of weight, also its a major sleeper

Boosted_ITR, have you thought about swapping a first gen N/A into an srt-4 shell.... :retard:

SRT-4s are sick..but still just a neon :knock_tee
and the pricetag when new was retarded :hitwithro

Honda-Guy1 01-10-2006 04:21 PM

never heard of it before but something new.... :veryhappy
