Ford Duratec 2.5L Question

It sounds like I've got a collapsed lifter in my moter in the Festiva... Does anyone know how much of a pain in the ass is it to change one of these in this engine?

this engine is a peace of and pretty hard(not hell) to work on everything is crammed together, my friend had to replace his engine after 230k(contour, ing SIEZED!) and then a few weeks later the egr pipe caught on fire, overall a piece of junk engine durability wise. get something better, you will have alot of problems later on anyways.

If it is the "lifter" i am thinking about, its fairly straightforward to change. Just be sure to keep the shims in the correct order when removing them.

You're right Adam... it would be easy on your Supra or my red car... but this is a transverse mounted V6 with a chain driving all 4 camshafts... and the faulty lifter is on the firewall side of the engine... underneath the upper intake manifold and coil pack.

BTW... hydraulic lash adjusters (or self adjusting lifters) don't use shims.

You seem to know everything about it, so why the hell are you asking about it hoe.
