Sunday drive turns into clutch cable coming lose
Damn BBK clutch cable. Went to put the car in reverse and the clutch went hella easy to the floor. Quick look under the hood = cable popped right out.
My Sunday drives resulted in my closing the garage door and going in. So disappointed :knock_tee |
What do you guys think, toss the BBK clutch cable assembly and go back to stock ?
:( |
What do you mean by popped out??? I had the FMS Adjustable Clutch kit on my 5.0. The cable came off the quadrent some how. I managed to hook it up again by reaching under the dash. I took the car to Mustang Specialteaz and it turned out we had mixed up the the way the cable gets hooked up at the clutch fork.
Hope this helps. |
Dammit, if you'd just give the car to me, you wouldn't have these problems :D
|
I don't see why you would go back to stock though.

i had a prob. with my quadrent on my self adjuster the thing stripped out made my cable pop off the clutch but never just pop off on its own

Yea, man, why are you putting it away so early...I know it's been rainy lately but it's still not that white stuff.

Honestly, all the money into it, the car still has some hicups :(
Its not perfect, but needs to be looked at again. I would like to get it in this year sometime so itll be ready for next summer. Maybe i can put 1,000 km on it in 08 :smashfrea |
Hey 2Tone, it happens when you deal with high performance stuff. The more fancy the systems the more trouble one gets.
|
Nah, i disagree.
All the money invested should be bettering the car, not making it worse. :smashfrea |
You have not really had many miles on the car to work out the bugs and let the car settle in. I would give it some time.

I thought i would update this. Sooo, the shop called me today to tell me that the cable appears ok and they think it is bound up somewhere in the actual line. Theyre saving it for me to pick up. This crap has less than 200KM on it :(
This is the 2nd BBK product on this car to fail :( I have lost all faith in BBK Performance, but then again, i am sure they will say blame the shop. Maybe they're right, who the hell knows anymore cause clearly i have no idea. Maybe Brian was right, screw paying these shops, i should have done it myself . LOL Regardless, i stopped buying BBK Performance parts after that disaster with the intake and since Nick closed shop, i went to a new one. So, both variables are out of the equation now, lets see what happens now. This is the cable i had bought here: BBK Performance 1505 - BBK Adjustable Clutch Cable and Quadrant Kits - summitracing.com I also bought the firewall adjuster. I am replacing it with this one: Summit SUM-700100 - Summit Adjustable Clutch Cable and Quadrant Kits - summitracing.com |
