Im not suprised. I went to ASE training with Terry Coley, hes an idiot. And that whole situation is retarded. I would have been nice about it until they started lying to me, then i'd sue. End of story.

V6Cam 01-29-2008 04:10 PM

That sucks, damn id be pissed, id sue his ass for damages an repair

archemedes 01-29-2008 04:37 PM

if the car was driven after business hours he has a case for theft, if during business, then he's screwed (almost all shops have a waiver saying they reserve the right to test drive the car) now the shops insurance should replace the car, but they don't have to (I had a guy drop a land rover off a hoist when I was with wal mart, and they paid the same as if he wrecked it) this is an example of why you never leave a car anywhere longer than required

paarman97maro 01-29-2008 07:13 PM

Bernotas05 01-29-2008 07:28 PM

Yea thats some crap for sure, I would sue him and his mechanic to no end.

ITSA6 01-29-2008 11:08 PM

i dunno. i know for fact i would have had someone pick up the car the day it was done. that could have prevented some of this

98CamaroZ28 01-30-2008 12:42 AM

the fact is that he should have never used a customers car for personal use.

problem is you sign a waiver when you drop off your car that they can drive it how they see fit, but it only applies during business hours. He shouldn't have let the guy joyride (a real business with ethics wouldn't do that) but you do run that risk if you take your car somewhere and have it worked on. Heck at shops here he'd have been on the hook for storage fees ($500 a day after 3 days at most shops)

that **** would make me kill someone

I read somewhere in the FOURTEEN  pages that he was taking his daughter to school. That has to point at the fact that this was no test drive. I would also think that his shop insurance would turn their backs on him if they discovered there was an unauthorized non-employee involved.

FORCE_FED_Z 02-03-2008 10:39 PM

That sucks...I'd be livid..

Shop insurance doesn't care, and prove it wasn't a test drive also. In GA we had a dealership that would take customers cars for errands for testing them as it's what normal people do (that was the argument anyway)
