01 Dodge Durango
I was looking at a durango tonight and when i started it up there was a mild knock. I don't know whether it was in the motor or like exhaust or just something lose. I was just curious if anyone had any ideas. And if you need it the car has the V8 and 105,000 miles.
thanks |
knock could be a bearing in the engine, a bad water pump, a trans issue, low oil pressure, or just general wear
|
gottcha thanks
|
check the heat shield maybe? :ne_nau:
|
i was looking at it to get to replace the camaro but that rattle makes me nervous...we are gonna have him try to fix it or take it to a mechanic before any decisions are made
|
if it knocks it probably wasn't well cared for (especially that low a mileage)
|
it's just a consideration

Knock or a tick?
Lifter? Does the noise stop when its warm? |

4.7 the two others weren't offered in 01 unless you got an R/T and the V6 was only offered in 00'

... oh yeah, that's right, you Americans had the option of a pussified Durango. They didn't offer the V6 Durango in Canada. All of ours were V8s.
|
Its still an SUV in my eyes... I dont think of horsepower when I see them.

The V6 gets worse real-world mileage than the V8 in big trucks. And who the hell would buy a two-wheel-drive SUV??
