96 z28 trade in
 

Hey guys i just wanted to say that ricers ain't all that bad. i had a 96 z28 to get to run 13.4's my best ever. well i got tired of fixing my car up all the time cuz bad stuff seemed to always happen to my car. this week tho i walked into mitsu and test drove the evo and after the test drive i was hooked on that turbo. i know u guys are gonna hate me but after the 500 mile break in i went to the track. ran a 13.0 with a 3.5k rpm lunach. i have a new found respect for the evo and the sti also. i would suggest u guys to go atleast test drive it these cars i think are great :)

no we dont hate you at all. we all love evos. a "ricer" is like the incorrectly lower, body-kit-comin-off, multi-colored painted, fartcan-equiped yet still slow civic i saw today.

x2. Some people just don't get the definition of "rice" that we have. You throw it all out of proportion(sp?).

you found a new respect for a car that's fast up to 30 mph. After that it's done. How quick is it from 60-120? not too quick i may presume with the AWD.

The nice thing about AWD is that it almost negates driver ability, just rev, dump, and go... something I find a negative about AWD systems. Driver skill is just as important as overall power in a race, I think.

Having said that, I've driven one before, and while they are quick cars, you just don't have the same torquey feel that you do with an eight cylinder.

Do a quarter-mile in an EVO, then do it in your Z28. The Z28 feels faster, even though it's not... that feeling of going fast is the 'fun factor', something I don't find in those kind of cars.

you only got 3 grand! you cant afford an EVO, you cant drive stick and your not old enough to test drive a car. Im throwin up the BS flag on this :blah: thats all your doin.

Man has a point, a brand new EVO is a very big chunk of change. Either your older then most of the people on this board or you are in adamp situtation.

no this is one of my friends. his brother has an EVO, and the kid thinks ne thing american is redneck. he's 16, never had a camaro, never driven ne car in his life, cept his moms and made all that up. disregard ne thing he says. for some reason i still hang out with him.lol

The AWD systems have really improved with those cars. I would watch what you say, an STi or Evo 8 could hand your LS1 TA it's *** in the 1/4.
