Air tools

I've tried asking around and searching, so I'm gonna give it a shot here.

For people who own them, I'm looking for a complete set with everything.
All the tools and air compressor(at least 3 hp and 20 gallons).

Is there a store/site/person that specializes with them? Besides CT.

I'm located in mississauga but would travel anywhere in the GTA.

Reason being I need to pull out my engine and tranny and people laugh when I tell them I won't be using air tools.

Thanks ahead for any output.

You can try princess auto. Whatever you do, dont get an direct drive, oil-less compressor. They are loud and do not last for very long. Get belt drive, oil lubed model. Dont worry so much about the hp figures... look at the scfm rating and ensure that it is 1.5 times the consumption rate of the tool that you are looking to use most often. For auto work, this will typically be air ratchets and impact wrenches. I find that with my 20 gallon compressor, the compressor kicks in every 6 bolts or so with the ratchet. I hope this helps.

If your willing to spend the money on Air Tools , Snap-On , Mac Tools, and Blue Point sells some good stuff.

A typical Impact Gun will cost you anywhere from $200-400 from the above companies.

For hand tools, the companies that were mentioned by supra rz are top notch, but for air tools, my personal recommendation is ingersoll rand.

Thanks for the recommendations and tips guys.....

But besides princess auto are there any stores that really specialize in this??

you can often find good deals on the air tools on ebay. home depot also carries a line of husky compressors that are of decent quality. the model i recommend is the belt driven, oil lubed upright compressor (26 gallon). I think it sells for about 550-600, but they have it on sale every now and then for about 450-500.

if you want tools from "Snap-on" or "Mac Tools" your best bet is too go to their outlet stores.

but for people like me who work in a Automotive Shop we have the so called "Store on wheels" from Mac tools and Snap-on.
