Are all V6 owners this way??
 

Disclaimer- this thread is in no means meant to flame all V6 owners, nor to say that I am better than anyone else, just something that I have been exposed to more than once, just that this time takes the cake..

This morning I was comin thru town with the g/f in my Grand Cherokee. I turned left at the big intersection in town and looked in mirror in time to see a pewter 98+ Camaro come whipping around the corner. I didn't think too much of it but when the next light turned red and he immediately went to the other lane so we were lined up. I looked over to see this skinny young kid, looked like he has only been legal to drive for three days, trying his very best to impress. He had his front windows tinted dark, half-way down of course. All sorts of tattos runnin up his toothpick arms. Of course you know he had his hat on backwards and off to the side all while listening to the latest dance remix techo cd. He looked over and gave me a nod.. Oh boy, here we go...

My Jeep is the V8 Grand Cher, which keeping in mind is a 4,000 lb SUV, moves along at a pretty good clip. The light turned green and off he goes like the middle school had just gotten out across town and he had to go show-off. Well myself being the person I am wasn't about to be blown away by some young punk. It didn't take long at all before I caught and passed him.

The next light he pulls up alongside me and gives ME the look of :rolleyes: then turns right into the mall to turn to try and regain his rep with the local girls who are trying to redeem their Chuckie Cheese tickets....

Now, my question is this- Did I happen to run into the one kid who thinks he is the fastest thing on the road because his car happens to say 'Camaro' on it, or does everyone who owns a V6 Camaro think they have speed which is untouchable by everyone else on the road?

Again- this wasn't meant to start a flame war between V6 and V8, just wondering if anyone else on this site suffers from the symtoms of "I drive a Camaro, therefore I am a bad-*** and I WILL BEAT YOU FROM ANY STOP LIGHT!!!"

Yea i just had that happen to me on the highway heading home on friday. But i live in a college town so it was a scrony college kid instead. I was leaving post just going along at the 35mph speed limit tell the limit pics up to 65 well when it pics up off i went and in my mirror i watched an 98+ v6 camaro come charging up to pass me. Much like you being the person i am I wasnt about to be shown up Like that So I droped down into 3rd and caught and left him like it was nothing. So I slow back down and resome my daily drive. He was worse though he followed me tell i got cought in traffic they he went racing around me in another lane just to get stuck a few cars up from me lol.

Nothing against V6 camaros like you said just some people think that they have to be the fastest thing on the road. My car just has exhaust done so far i know that people can woop my *** so i dont try and beat every car i see.

But no....I dont act like that AT ALL im very mature and I know what im driving etc....I dont go around acting as im unstopable and drive stuipd as he was. Me and the local V6 F-Body club here were all cool and good guys and just have fun and enjoy are F-Bodys. We hang with the V8 crowds and continue to have fun. Nothing of that crap u came across. Im sorry you had to witness some dumbass trying to act as though he had a Z06 or something.

Ive met douches like this. Every kid at my high school was like this. Trust me, theyre nothing short of fags who just got their lisence and think since their car is branded with a name brand that they can beat anything. This one kid had a stock v6 camaro, no nothing aftermarket... Yet this kid would lay, yes lay back in his seat and have this look like he could just smoke any vette or viper that would get along side him.

Yes, I drive a V6, but no Im not a fag like that kid. Sure Ill give a go at a stoplight sometimes, not expecting to win, just for fun. Looks like you just ran into a douchebag... Next time ask him if he wants to race YOUR car :D

yeah most kids are probly like that not respecting there larger brothers (v8) i know wherei stand on the totem pole when it comes to that, i jsut have my occasional fun with some donuts in empty parking lots here in there but i know my car isnt fast enough to start racing like that...... soon it will be 8]

you will probly run into a bunch of tese kids most of them wouldnt know that there car comes in a v8, better yet they dont know what they have

i can honestly say it is true. when i got my first 3.4 when i was 15.9 years old ( :D ) i was like that. no one at stop lights would take off fast...so i would be the only one going fast...therefore i thought i was fast. it wasnt until i got a v8 that i realized how stupid i was.

i cant wait to get my first v8 of my own

i have been, but i havent been getting replays back , like the one about the ticking under the leaking thread, someone replied with lifter but that doesnt mean much to me cause i am still learning
