Anyone do safety & emissions?

I have an 89 civic EF, dunno if it will pass safety and emissions, does anyone know anyone who does safety and emissions? matt_rygus@hotmail.com if msn is easier to talk on.

the use of fake etests are not endorsed by this site. we do not allow posts regarding it either.
HOWEVER, if you would like some help to make your EF pass etest, you can ask questions here

It will pass emssions, don't worry. Unless you got some japanese in theyre it get's.. complicated.... Or do what I did for my jdm tyte motor and "look around". It shouldn't cost you more than 120-140$ "to safely pass emissions". Stock motor is easy to pass.

As for safety.. I'll post up the 36 points in a few days I'm pretty caught up nowadays with what I'm trying to build for next season. It's never to early to start!!111 :lol_hitti

sorry didn't mean anything illegal, just wondering what i would have to do in order to pass safety. its a zc d16a dohc. the main thing im concerned is it looks like a winter beater... as the body isn't in good shape. also i have a momo steering wheel and everything else is pretty stock. tires are great.

in terms of safety, biggest concers are lights, horn, e-brake, windsheild, brakes, tires. Also in terms of the rusty body its ok unless there are holes entering the "passenger compartment". Usually its not looked at so much mechnically.

As far as the etest goes i would just go and get it tested and post your results. I have known many people that thought that there car would never pass and it has. good luck and post the results.

Also you might be confused by which engine you have in the car. Sounds like you have a DOHC Zc engine. The zc comes in SOHC non-vtec, SOHC vtec, and DOHC. The d16a6 would be a stock si engine and the ones listed above are japanese engines.

not only that i think your car is running a bit rich (hydrocarbons) honestly get it checked out, take out a spark plug, maybe change them cuz i know they are cheap. dont change the cat right away, also do the cheapest repairs first. make sure the car is warmed up, even throw in some higher octane gas. but chances are if its an 87 it might be running on some original parts so definately get that ish checked out. search some websites, theres alot of info that will help you determine the parts youll need to change by what your readings are.

as far as safety goes. no fluid leaks, no cracked windshields, all lights work and appriate switches, reverse lights, day time running lights for cars after 1990 i think tires with i believe over 5/32nds tread depth, good suspension, no body damage that effects the car (doors cant open etc. same goes for hood) brakes, ebrake/parking brake works... no exhaust leaks, basically the car has to be in good shape. some shops will let some small things pass, (light bulbs, small cracks on the windsheild. all of these things should be gone over properly before buying an 'as is' car. and honestly youll pay upwards of 250 to get a fake e-test, think about it, your car might not need that much money into it to get it to pass....
