********, Why, thats a dumb reason to cut the RWD cars..

jamilz28 03-21-2005 06:20 PM

**** gm they will only have only gay cars if they do that :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Mike Jones 03-21-2005 07:33 PM

There goes any chance of the Camaro coming back

robluvs2xlr8 03-21-2005 07:48 PM

Aint that a *****.

Only thing appealing from GM is the Navigator, and the Corvette.

GTO is unattractive due to 10k dealer markups.

imported_blade 03-21-2005 09:34 PM

that's awesome!!!
you know what?
the car market sucks right now. there really isn't anything cool out there...
and there definately isn't anything that a 19 yr old kid could just go out and buy that was performance...that was what was so cool about the muscle car era, and that's why we need a revolution!!!

meissen 03-21-2005 09:40 PM

yeah, I found out about this a few weeks ago, still very soar about it. :(

Wow dude, that's amazing that you knew about it weeks ago, since the official press release came out on Friday, and that article today.

I thought it was basically almost for sure that the Camaro was not gonna be on the Zeta platform anyhow, because the roofline was too high to be a true Camaro.

jamilz28 03-21-2005 09:47 PM

lol busted :wnedx2: :wnedx2:

imported_Sincere 03-21-2005 09:50 PM

And also, I am going to go ahead and counter this whole thread with this little tidbit of info.

i was just gonna post that link brother

archemedes 03-21-2005 11:31 PM

someone on my gp board posted that a few days ago, just because a platform in development has been canceled means very little (they won't tell you what is being worked on in the back of the building) they have been saying the whole time there is no new camaro they want it to be a surprise and build suspense

97z2801ss 03-22-2005 12:29 AM

arch after thinking about it i think u may be right.

haha good call!

camaro94 03-22-2005 01:13 AM

I've gotten to the point that I care very little one way or the other. The newer car market is starting to suck, and is hardly affordable to so many people, and so are the older cars whose 'collector value' has skyrocketed to the point of ridiculousness. . I've just given up caring anymore.

I don't care if the Camaro comes back or not, cause I won't be able to afford for sure.

lol ur looking at the short term
I cant afford an 2002 SS camaro now. But hey maybe in 5 years ill be able to get one. And maybe in 5 years after that ill be able to get a 2007 camaro...but maybe not. Even if i wont be able to at the time, some time down the road i will be able to. But if they dont make it at all, ill never be able to own it. Get where im coming from?

imported_blade 03-22-2005 03:35 AM

i don't care how long it takes...if gm plans on re-doing the camaro, they better freaking do it right or let the legend rest.

Eh, ok my bad, I truely thought it was over a week ago that I read about it, but it was in fact Friday, but it was hinted at it for awhile on cz28.com.

to build on what arch is saying, also, there are contracts that GM is legally bound to that they are not allowed to talk about specific details about the Camaro or say that the Camaro will be coming back, but the contract ends within the next year or so (I can't remember exactly when, I just remember reading that it should be perfectly in time for the 2007/2008 release)

Besides, if they do bring it back they'll probably botch it anyway, and not many will want one then. If its anything like the Charger, and the Chevelle thats been worked on, I know I'll stay far away.

yeah, both the charger and the chevelle are kind weak. I liked the '99 concept of the Charger, though.

97z2801ss 03-22-2005 10:53 PM

I seen the four door looked good with the hemi stuff on it but eh.... the 99 was bad ***

red9450 03-24-2005 11:53 PM

All I can say is :banghead: . I love to see american muscle alive and well, but it just doesn't seem right without a RWD V-8 in the stable. I pray that things change, and they revive the muscle that GM is known for.

They should let the camaro rest.

I think they should create another legendary pony car.
