What do you mean a whole nother year? They went from late 08 to Feb of 09. That's only like three months or so, not an entire year.

Production of the car starts in fall of 2008, and the car goes on sale starting of Feb 09. That site has there crap wrong.

Or possibly they are making sure that it is good to go and that it won't have any problems. If you bring a car back you want to make sure everything is taken care of and you won't have any major problems.

Case in point- Ski-Doo let their muscle sled out of production for a few years and then brought it back in 05 with their most powerful motor ever. Unfortunetly there were quite a few problems with the first year blowing up motors. They fixed the problems by 06 but by then the damage was already done. Enough people talked and too many people got a bad taste of the sled and didn't want to risk dropping over 10K on a sled only to have it in the shop getting updates and warranty work done. Because of this, the most powerful sled ever built was canceled after 07 due to low sales. I know its not a car, but the analogy still applies.

As much as it sucks I think GM might be smart by seeing how the competition does and what people want. Then they might be able to make some small last minute changes to adapt. I highly doubt people are going to forget that the Camaro is coming back. They might loose a couple sales, but I'm sure that the people who are lining up to buy the first ones will wait a few more months.

no... before they had talked about having models out by the end of 08, which means starting production like mid 08. Thats close enough to a year for me.
