Camaro Time.....

well yeah just as it says camaro time....in a few years. okay i once again have changed my mind (as i seem to do daily) about what i want to get after college. I really want to get into another F-body or Formula. I am really wondering just about how much money i should be saving to buy a car in about five years from now..ish. here is a list of what i would like just a rough estimate is all i am really asking for. and dont tell me to buy an LS1 or something cause i don't want one :D okay so here is the list

1994-1996
Black
T-tops
LT-1 (duh) A4 transmission
any of the models (SS, Z28, Formula, Firebird Formula........etc)
car should have around 100k on it
good running condition and decent interior and such

basically looking for a decent car i can make reliable and take to chadapalooza and camaro super fest in a few years down the road. i am saving now and just curious about how much i am looking at. eventually i want to rebuild the engine and tranny and whole set-up in the car and turbo it, but that will be many years away just want a good car to start off of.

thanks for your help everyone
vince

great chioce. I'm not a big fan of the 4th gen cars myself. Heck if after college buy a used 5th gen

anyone else have an answer to my question?

In my area a car like that would cost around $4500 - $6500. That's pretty much exactly what I want ATM, but I would rather have the M6.

By that time 5K will be more than enough to buy one. Unfortunitly it'll be harder to find one with just 100K miles and in good condition as younger and younger people will be able to afford them and beat on them.

Yea I would buy a used 5th gen if its in a few years. But if your minds set on a lt1 Fbody then I agree around 5K will cover it for a nice one. But I also agree with chad, Its going to get harder to find one with low miles for a decent price in a few years.

thanks for the help guys at the rate i am saving i should be able to get a pretty nice one and i don't want a 5th gen i really think they look horrible in my own opinion

buy a total, and rebuild it better

ITSA6 08-17-2007 11:23 AM

problem with that is i want to be able to drive it when i get it then gradually do a rebuild save some money take my time and do it the way i want to for sure
