ETEST anyone give me some tips on passing

I got a 99 acura 1.6EL turbo and i went for a etest i put a cat on the car passed the drive test but curb idle failed. But i think i know why im running the 1 colder plugs and a small gap so im thiking running some stock gapped hotter plugs and 94 sunoco it should pass??? ANything else.

If you are turbo you should be using 94 octane anyways....

If you have trouble, new plugs/wires will help the spark. You turbo'd a formerly n/a car so I imagine you have something to tune with? AFC? Lean it out for the test.

There are some more riskier methods to pass tho, such as home made gas mxiture. But you dont want to mess with that if you don't know what you are doing. :)

Well im tunned with hondata im gonna use new plugs stock gap and turn the fuel pressure down from 40 to 37 thats as low as i can go or maybe put a restrictor in the fuel fitting to lower the pressure. Cause under the drive test the car was right in the middle but idle it smelled rich.

what is your fuel setup?
what size of injectors are you using and what fuel pump?

Id try and set everything back to as close to stock settings as you can and you shouldnt have a problem passing emissions. Although i wouldnt recommend driving the car like that lol. :D

I got a welbro 255 510cc injectors and hondata the car passed fine under the drive test but the idle test failed so im gonna try to run stock plug and stock gap and turn the fuel down 2psi that should help

Ok I looked into this a little further....

Pour in 1 bottle of isopropyl rubbing alcohol into your gas tank. This will be similar to the "gauranteed to pass" you can buy in stores, but it will burn hotter and cleaner than petroleum based products. This won't hurt anything. Add it to an 8th of a tank so you dont dilute the alcohol to much. 90% of cars will be able to pass the test by doing this, even if they didnt have cats.

Good luck.
