Euro drive - cv axles, clutches, injector conditioning/testing

Alright well I came across a for sale post and noticed a clutch kit from Euro-drive in burlington. Now Euro drive specializes in driveline and injectors, weird mix i know. Now i have used euro drive many times and the one thing i can say about them is quality work.

address:
1254 Plains Road East, Burlington, On L7S 1W6, CANADA

Cv axles
Euro drive sells rebuilt axles and have a variety of axles in stock. Now there work is all about quality.

Now other rebuilt cv's you see out there are broken down and the joints are reground. Some are ground down enough that new oversized ball bearings are put in place when reassembled. Everything is spot welded back together after reconditioned and freshened up. They obivously regrease and put new boots on and theres your axle. The problem with these axles is they are significantly weakened. Now from first hand experience i had a joint housings break on me because they have been reground/welded/generally poorly rebuilt. The problem is that for one the axles are spot welded and reduce overall strength and the older housings are weakened duel to the regrinding. Also the shafts are rewelded aswell. Next time you see an axle coming from a company such as crappy tire, nappy, or parts sauce take a good look at it and you might find some of the catches i have talked about.

Now euro drive being a quality remanufacturer takes it to the next level. form there website:

Euro-Drive rebuilds all CV driveshafts using one simply policy. Quality. If a CV housing is worn it is replaced with a new CV joint. We do not re-grind the ball tracks in the CV joint. To start off with our driveshafts are completely dis-assembled, and cleaned. All boots, clamps and outboard cages are discarded. All of the remaining components are then inspected. Worn or damaged components are discarded. The main shaft is inspected for straightness, all splines and threads are inspected and chased as needed.

Now the re-assembly can begin, all of the discarded parts are replaced with new Rockford components. The CV driveshaft is reassembled using Rockford High temperature grease and Dura Boots.
For those who are snapping axles or experince poor quality cv axles then go to euro drive and check them out. Even holding the new axle in your hands feels much more quality then you standard ones. The price is also good, even better with a core. From first hand experince 2 axles have been broken from poor remanufacturing and then was replaced with a euro drive cv and has been awsome since. I am not trying to promote them in any way just sharing infromation with you. This is why maybe you can find one axle is more expensive at one place then possibly another. Cv axles are inspected and worn parts are replaced and not reoconditioned.

Fuel injectors
Now i know many deep performance enthusiasts are looking for injector testing/conditioning/blueprinting labs locally and is one place that is hard to really find when looking for.

Reconditioned fuel injectors are one of the newest products in the Euro-Drive Clutches rebuilt parts line-up. Injectors are one of the most over-looked parts on your car. While doing a tune-up most tune-up parts, spark plugs, fuel, oil, air filters, spark plug leads, can be replaced, however fuel injectors are rarely thought about. But it's the fuel injectors that are relied on deliver the correct amount of fuel, in equal portions to each cylinder. After 30,000 miles of driving the injectors can be partially blocked, thereby robbing your engine of fuel and power. These injectors need to be removed, reconditioned and tested for performance to return. Reconditioning includes testing, ultra-sonic cleaning, and replacing all seals and filters. All injectors are tested for flow and spray pattern. Injectors are matched into sets with a maximum of 5% variance.
Performance blueprinting is the precision matching and testing of fuel injectors. Injectors are ultrasonically cleaned they are flow and spray tested at specific pressures. Injectors are considered blueprinted when spray pattern is identical among the complete set. Variance in flow is a maximum of 1%. This Performance Blueprinting can mean extra horsepower for your performance car!

Clutches
Euro drive deals with alot of clutches. They make them all in house custom and to manufactuers or performance spec. They can can make clutches for rare models of european and japanese vechiles. Last time i was around there was a performance twin disc for a supra and a 3 puck for a honda/acura. Many materials and options are avaliable. Eurodrive is good to turn to for performance or oem standard parts.

The main product line of Euro-Drive Clutches Inc. is remanufactured clutches. We remanufacture all automotive and light truck clutches. Our specialty is in Foreign clutches such as Alfa Romeo, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Volvo. Japanese clutches fitting Acura, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Subaru and Suzuki are also made to the same high quality standards.
Euro-Drive Clutches Inc. specializes in rebuilding clutches for performance cars like Ferrari, Porsche, BMW Lamborghini, and Mazerati.

Some of the clutches are available from the shelf on an exchange basis or we have priority rebuilding service for custom rebuilts, with a turn around of less than one day.

Clutches are available with high quality organic clutch facings or with Clutchtex Kevlar clutch facings. Kevlar lasts up to 5 times longer than any other material.

awsome, post back on what you think of their work/products.

i have a friend whos a mechanic and he's been using those for clutches for the past 4 years and no problems but he got 2 bad ones last week. he wasn't impressed to say the least. now as has to replace them for free.

Good prices and good guys.

A friend of mine had an unknown problem with his clutch assembly/transmission where he kept snapping the bands and breaking rivets on his pressure plate (euro drive dual diaphram).

After everytime the thing broke he brought it back and they fixed it free of charge, had to have been at least 6 times. After switching transmissions, pressure plates, clutch discs, thrust washers, ect, it was determined it was the flywheel. Anyways, it wasn't even there product causing the issue, yet they still fixed them free of charge.

Unfortunately, their kevlar discs don't hold enough power, they slip way to much when they get hot. :smilie_d0

whats considered enough power? Kevlar tends to be unforgiving and if street driven in such stop and go traffic it will glaze the friction disc. If excessive heat is applied to kevlar it will not return to its orginal characteristics when cooled.

IntegraMark 12-21-2006 03:33 AM

damn i was thinking of getting kevlar to use in the motor build of my other car.

**** that

A proper 1000km break in with no slipping was done on 2 cars.

Even on back to back dyno runs the disc started slipping, and slips a lot after a couple consecutive drag passes. 3200lb pressure plate and 520whp 500tq. which I guess is understandable, but they said it would hold...And no more than 400whp/tq on another car with their PP and it slips like a bitch once boost kicks in.

Feramic is my disc of choice :smilie_da :smilie_da :smilie_da

Hmmm thats unfortunate! i was gonna say possibly the pressure plate, but 3200lbs is well more then enough.
