exhaust ideas.

Alright my car goes to a local exhaust shop to have exhaust put in on the 21st.

Anyway im undecided on what size and tips to use.... Its so hard to find people posting pictures of 4th gen car asses at a realistic standing heights. At first i thought i would just have them put my old stock z28 tips back on with the new exhaust... but wouldnt that mean they would have to run a smaller pipe size for it to fit into the tip?

I really want 3'' , however in my opinion they look hideous on 4th gen fbodys if they dont have the RS ground effect kit... Some shops leave like 2'' of pipe stick out from the rear bumper and i really think that is what makes me dislike the looks of 3'' pipes so much.. Would it look funny if the pipe was cut back so it wouldn't stick out from the bumper? Im having a hard time finding pictures... some help would be nice

Here's some pics of my car with 3 inch tips, but it is exactly what you say you don't like. Maybe it will help a bit. I don't have too many different angles that show the tips.

thanks for the pictures man... Underneath the rear bumper theirs a little lip .. so if i told the shop to cut the pipes off there would it look funny? lol

anyway how much sound and performance would i lose if they had to run a smaller pipe to fit into my stock z28 tips?

you dont need to run entirely smaller piping.. you would just need a converter to go to the tips.

2.5" - 3" is all the bigger you need for piping. General rule is the wider the piping, a little deeper the tone, but less backpressure = less lowerend power.

I have 3" piping all the way back from headers, then after the muffler it splits into 2 2.5" pipes into 3.5" tips. Ill look for some pics now, I have a lot.

Heres a few I could find on my sites..
Heres some from a photoshoot: http://www.motortopia.com/album/view...007_photoshoot
