found a nice project...not a camaro though

my friend from works dad has a 78 chevy pickup that he said he would sell to me. its pretty solid altough it does have some rust through the metal but only on the bed. the front is really solid. its got an 8 ft bed so its nice and big. its got a 350 w/ all the chrome stuff lol and it has true duals running to glasspacks and sounds really badass. it cost him a couple hundred to have that done. the trans is kinda on its way out but he has another trans that he said i could have with it. sound like a good project? guess what...its only 400 bucks!

Not bad, somethin to have a lil fun with. Not a bad deal.

Plus there are many hundos of them in the junk yards to go rippin parts n **** off of.

nice, bed's are pretty cheap for those too

Mike Jones 08-17-2007 11:16 PM

If that's what you really want then go for it. I'm not a truck fan so I won't get excited about it myself.

dude, decide what you want, and get it. or save for something nicer. otherwise youll end up putting money and time into something you dont really want in the end.

I drive a 67 C-10 with a built 400 sbc. I'd trade it for an f-body any day. Save for the car you really want, and don't compromise. I'd bet you'll enjoy it a lot more.

Bernotas05 08-18-2007 06:57 PM

I agree, If you really want another turd gen I would just wait around for the perfect project car.

A-RoN'sZ 08-19-2007 01:43 AM

Seriously man, if it's not what ya want, def don't compromise because you'll never be happy with it. I wanted a Camaro when I decided to restore the Ventura because I thought I would come out cheaper that way, and I couldn't find the Camaro I was looking for. Now, I have over $11k invested in the Ventura, not counting my time, and I would trade/sell it in a heartbeat to mod my Camaro or buy an SS. Point is get what ya want. Restoring the Ventura was fun and def an experience w/ my dad that I'll never forget, but there's no comparison w/ my Camaro cause it's what I've always wanted.

i get what u guys are saying about getting what i want and everything. my plans for this truck were just to get it, have some fun with it and fix everything i can and get the body nicer and all in primer. then sell it for a lot more then i put into it so i would have money to get what i want.

CheM 08-19-2007 10:00 PM

For $400, it could be something fun to mess with. I skipped over the price for some reason. ><

blue89vert 08-19-2007 10:05 PM

yeah...i could buy a turd gen for 500 easy...with no hood, rims, engine, trans.... i dont want to wait a long *** time to get another car. i just want a project right now ya know, somethin i can tinker around with whenever i want like i did with the camaro. the only reason im considering this is b/c of the drivetrain and the price. he had the exhaust put on like a year ago and that alone cost him around 300 bucks...

whitecamaro96 08-19-2007 10:20 PM

eh up to you man if you think you could have some fun with it and get your money back when you sell it then id say go for it but if it meens not getting or delaying you from getting the camaro then i'd say dont do it just save up for what you really want another camaro

blue89vert 08-19-2007 10:32 PM

i just talked to alex and i told him 300 dollars tops lol. hes gonna talk to his dad and let me know tommorow. his dad has like 6 cars just sitting around and he just wants to get rid of them. he was actually gonna scrap the truck lol

archemedes 08-19-2007 10:42 PM
