BSFC - Brake Specific Fuel Consumption

The rating in pounds per hour of fuel to make one horsepower for one hour.

A very-efficient N/A motor will usually run at .47 BSFC whereas a turbo/nitrous car you'd want to run .52 or .57 BSFC to be on the safe side (a little rich can't hurt anything). As well it gives two different "duty cycle" ratings. You'll want the 80% for a daily driver.

So, starting at the BSFC you want, the numbers in the columns underneath corespond with the lb-hr ratings on the left hand side. The resulting number is the horsepower EACH injector can support.


For example:

8x36 lb/hr injectors running .47 BSFC @ 80% duty cycle can support 490 horsepower at 43 psi rail-pressure.

Of course, that's why you see so many people running FMU's and adjustable fuel pressure regulators. You can get more flow with more rail pressure.
