10 bux says its the sending unit, mines bad too, and I dont want to dish out the 300ish bux for a new one, or go through the hasel of installing it.

Bernotas05 06-19-2007 01:24 PM

Yea sounds like your sending unit is fubar.

Adric 06-19-2007 02:18 PM

Mines gay too. It only tells me howmuch I really have when I just start it up. After that it tells me on on E everywhere.

Phate 06-19-2007 03:05 PM

Its either the sending unit or the cluster. As said previously, the sending unit is ridiculously expensive, and a pain in the *** to install.

Yep. Set your trip meeter every time you fill up, and fill up when you think its about time.

Fubar...haha I watched that movie the other night for like the 50th time...it's great! Anyway, yea had the same prob with my 96 3.8 a couple of years ago and it was the sending unit, but I didn't replace it because of the reasons everyone already mentioned. Setting the trip and keeping a close watch on it is the easiest and safest way I would imagine.

My Honda's is broken as well.

I just fill it up whenever I think it needs it. It's normally around half tank because I'm afriad of running out of gas.
It's funny, I'll spend all this money on my Camaro but won't spend $40 to replace the fuel sending unit on the car I drive the most.

sman 06-20-2007 10:01 PM

Wow chad, and I thought I was cheap, lol.
