so....what's the project? building a computer or putting it in your car ;) heh. looks nice.
bingo. both actually :D
That's a 10.5" touch screen, super cool. Plans: mp3 database DVD player for movies GPS navigation game console emulators and games... Fun stuff! |
well let's go! in the words of Larry the Cable Guy, "git 'er dun!!!!"
Kick azz.
Dude that's sweet...can't wait to see when it's done.
ghetto fabolous :D:D:D
;) but seriously, that thing is cool. are you planning to put that in your car? |
yeah im really really excited, I have my plans set on finishing this by the end of the year.. only thing that is holding me back is waiting for the parts. I want this computer fully functioning and then test running it non-stop in the basement for a few days playing music 24 hours a day to make sure it will run and not crash.. nothing would suck more than getting it in the car and then having problems with the computer crashing.
d'oh I just now realized Adam's post had an "or" between it. Yeah, this is going in my car.
It used to be a standalone kiosk coin-star type of thing in the skyboxes at Madison Square Garden, had tons of NY sports stuff in there, as well as short clips of the definition of plays and stuff, kinda funny to see. This came with an external card reader which I'm assuming used to run a credit card reader for buying tickets or something. Pretty cool, none the less. So far it's going on 20 hours straight running... we'll see. :D |
wheres it going? in place of the passenger airbag?
Screen will be mounted in the radio bezel when I'm finished, rest of the computer will go under the passenger seat.
is it going to fit??? the radio bezel is maybe possible for a 6.5 inch not 10.5
custom fabricating it, the only thing I'm really going to be using is the mounting tabs.. rest of it will probably be custom. I'll probably use a program called Pivot Pro to pivot the screen 90 degrees so it will be tablet oriented instead of landscape.
so i take it you know a **** lot about computers huh? how did u actually get the music and all the other stuff to be compatible with it cause thats not what its supposed to do correct?lol
well what you do is load the computer's hard drive with mp3 songs, then the earphone plug goes to the computer speakers. With my setup, I'm going to have to splice into the earphone wire (which has left, right, and ground) and just wire it to RCA jacks.. really not that hard. Then I just plug the RCA jacks into my headunit's aux in spot, and tada whatever sound my computer makes will go out through my computer, through the headunit, and to all my speakers, the amp and then to the sub.
