help! stupid air compressor
anyone have any tricks to getting a transmission out by hand? my dad's stupid 8 gallon air compressor works fine for getting my driveshaft, starter, etc off but i cant get those transmission to bell housing bolts off.
and no one say go buy a new air compressor...im very close to doing that...but i'd like any tips on doing it by hand first. |
yeah, use a wrench...
Thats the way ive been doing it at work. I just pulled a S/C 5.0 and all i did for the bellhouse was use a socket and a wrench. |
yup thats pretty much the only way without any air tools

oh you must be mistaking me for someone with muscle...
lol. nice. hired help!

well i ended up getting them with my breaker bar. it really wasnt as difficult as i thought, its just those top bolts arent by any means easy. using two 2 ft extentions and a breaker bar with 2 inches of room to turn it isnt fun...plus im only maybe a foot off the ground. now i gotta wait for my friend to get outta class so we can lower it down...i dont have a jack for this, just our weak piece of **** "trolly jack" that we use to jack up cars. why does my dad waste money on this meager ****?
those tops bolts gave me the most trouble too i just used a breaker bar and like 3 extensions it wasnt that bad just had to get everything lined up right so i could put some strength into it
yeah the top bolts are always the most difficult, somtimes when working on a car i think to my self "how the **** did they get that all in there???"
dont you have like really nice tools/lifts/compressors at work?
haha yeah, we totally do.
can I be you?
