How to resize your pictures!
Materials needed:
1) http://www.irfanview.com/ - ifran view Cost = FREE 2) a picture 3) a brain -------- hit up that website and download the free software irfanview. Clocking in at about 856 kb's it's a small free download so even 56k'ers can do this easily. now...after installing that software find the image you wish to resize (format shouldn't matter due to the large format database the software supports) so here is Irfanview's interface http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...tutorial/1.jpg you can play around with it to get used to how it works. you won't hurt any of your pictures permanently unless you save. to resize a picture, you want to click on the image menu as shown http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...tutorial/2.jpg move your mouse down to "Resize/Resample" and click to bring up the following menu http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...tutorial/3.jpg now... along the right of this menu, you'll see a plethora of preset choices to pick from, OR where it says "set new size" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...tutorial/4.jpg you can choose a custom size. now simply entering the maximum size allowed on PC (120 X 120) may or may not work determining by the original size of the picture. find the larger of the two numbers, or is the case above, 149, and make it 120. the software will automatically make the image the same ratio but smaller by entering that number. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...tutorial/5.jpg click okay to see if you like the results. if you do, save the image to your desktop so it's easy to find when you go to the user CP to upload it. after uploading it, delete it but make sure you still have the original! |
wow...paint does the exact same thing...
|
wow...not quite buddy...you can resize with paint, but you don't know exact figures (just percentages), you're limited to the formats and this software is awesome and quick to use for resizing and viewing pictures...
